Server Linking?
 

Hey,

I thought up this crazy and wierd idea which might be fun.. When servers hold special big events I think servers friendly to each other would benefit if they could link servers (by a warper) for a short while so you can have a server-wide olympics!

You mean like you could travel from delteria to npulse? It would be kind of hard since all servers either have a different host or port, you would have to go through another connecting process, it wouldn't really be worth it anyway

Ahhh... Yes true also player hosting a Player should be able to host their own PW just make it not official lol It would have problems arise but it would be cool as anything

That would be scary, I don't want to walk into a house on Classic to end up in some scary server.

Yes, they wouldn't have random links on classic, but I still kept walking into the link to one super scary playerworld on classic when it was still up. (I don't know it's name anymore, I just remember that half of it was grass)

Erm walk into a door on one server..end up on another, wouldnt it be quicker to just press F8 and go there...unless this idea includes joining all the playerlists together or something...then I see lots of lag.
But then again I just thought it would be amazing to make an NPC for staff that warps players to other servers mwhahaha dont mess around on here or we will warp you to Enigma...lol thats an even worse punishment than banning

NONO it would be for events ONLY like if you want to have a server-wide race... It would be pointless but oh well!

Yeah I remember those... And he is in a way(hes adding gateways) thats what he told me

They're still subworlds, he's calling them gateways I think
They are hosted on the same server and port, its just different stats

Yeah now we gotta get Stefan to allow players to host their own PW's (even though some would end up on Angelfire) lol I would be glad to host some peoples PW's on my server I have to much room as it is lol!

You have no idea what hosting a server would require

Yeah it's Linux and I already host a number of Games on the server....

o, I see, I doubt Stefan will release another thing to allow you to host servers (I cant say the word since its censored)

yeah I know because hardly anyone would be able to host their PW... but hey it could be an IP type thing LOLZ with a max of like 1 person hahahahaahhaah jk

Maybe... he could release it to like people who he likes their server.. I dunno it would slow down my bussiness though so that might kinda suck

nah, he wont release it because it would cause him to loose A LOT of money

simple, have graal check the main password database to see if they have an upgraded account, if so, forward them to *ip addy here*

This whole conversation is pointless haven't any of you people ever spoken to Unixmad and his thoughts about players hosting servers, it is never going to happen. Unixmad has all the bandwidth and servers Graal is gonna need if players started hosting servers the game would goto hell, when its fine how it is now.
