Something new for Doragon Koden

I know I don't reveal much of what I'm doing on my PW...simply because I don't like giving other people ideas that I spent time on :p

But here is a sample of what the graphics are going to look like after I get everything done.

By the way...it's not perfect so this is not the final product...just a sample of what I'm working on (slowly).

To answer your question...I'm going to have custom head graphics...all players will have a blank head (ie a head with no eyes or hair). There will be various ways to customize the head to your liking.

But aside from that...the image should sorta look rounded somewhat...Here's a palmtree that I will be adding to my tileset that was done in the same fashion as will the rest of my tilesets soon be.

The way these images look remind me of low resolution rendered images :)

It looks nice, it's good to see a server straying away from the graal 2001 way

Could you make it so you dont need a RP tag? Its really anoying because ive been wanting to try your PW for a long time now but G_yoshi you always say your too busy and the other RC says that he doesnt have permission to give people the RC tags

Ehh.. how would the players be able to customize a blank head? Using ganis? Wouldn't that require more attritibutes then the gani's currently allow?

It seems... mario-ish.

I'm pretty sure that's the theme he's aiming for.

Graalshop has by default 3 Attribute slots...but if you read the newfeatures2002.txt, you will see that ATTRIB5-9 have been added...but those are controlled through a text editor :)

So, I can have custom eyes, hair, mouths, noses, earrings, etc.

In reallity, I'm going to have different eye colors and different hair styles...I even plan on trying to do a dragon-like body and have some demi-human characters since in my bodies folder, I had a cat body that I got somehow :)

I'm really just looking for something different :/

This has little connection to anything Mario-related...

Yes I know about the extra attributes (how else would I be making my oasis bodies lol) :)

I was talking to stefan and we discussed gani attributes and he says there needs to be a way to define attributes instead of having a limited amount. 9 attributes is not enough for my players ganis.. lets see:

Body
Pants
Shoes
Shirt
Coat
Hair
Facial Feature
Weapons on body
Weapons on body 2
Weapons on body 3
Items on body
Items on body 2
Belt

That's all I have at the moment. Head is just using the head image, but unlike the head, the body can't be used because its all set up to use colors and stuff for changing and my bodies are not like that so I have to use them as an attribute.

There is 13 attributes there and I know I need more, such as hats and other clothing and accessories. Even stuff like animals to ride would require another attribute (just like riding bomy pets)

I need at least a max of 20 to have my players be complete.

My characters have no visible noses, and the mouths are too small to worry about changing.. the only thing left is the eyes/eyebrows, and I would rather just make detailed heads then have an entire attribute for about 16 pixels. :)

To limit it down quite a bit you can use the hair as a hat ;) .

But if the person has long hair, like a girl for instance, then you would have a girl with no hair and a hat on lol.

The great thing about having so many different attributes for characters is that you can get extremely unique looks. Like in my sig, even though there is only one set of clothing there are several ways to style it.

Now imagine the pants coming in like 10 colors, and 4-5 styles, and there being different shirts, coats, belts, shoes, etc. You can mix and match anything together and make some really cool things.

The bad part is that the added attributes mean added graphic work.. instead of just making fat bodies with about 6 changeable colors, you have clothing that the player actually wears. The good thing is that making clothes and accessories is very easy.. especially just having a shirt and then making it in a bunch of different colors and patterns. :)
