A helpful idea for most playerworlds..
For many playerworlds on Graal, I always feel that there is disadvantages to new players. How many of you have gotten on a pw after it has been up a long while (for the first time) and some experienced player comes up and wipes the floor with you.
This is because they have more health, more speed, and more weapon power. This is just a helpful suggestion, but perhaps there should be a strength indicator over players heads that you can turn on and off. Basically it will have a symbol, or a number, or whatever, that will display over everyone elses head, that will tell how strong they are compared to you. For example, you walk on a level, and see a bunch of guys with 50+ over their head, and you're level is 25, then you better run away and not attempt to fight. Of course, the downside of this, is that the older players will be mad because they can't get easy kills, but they shouldn't get easy kills anyway, right? I think the best way to use this system is to have icons or symbols instead of level number or whatever, seeing as how it would make it more of a certain range stronger then you instead of knowing exactly what level they are, etc. |
You posted this because of what I said in the other thread, didn't you? :o

I don't find it bad to have 15 hearts on a server, as long as there is a way to avoid fighting these 15 heart people. Just like in real life, when you see some guys in an alley with burley muscles and chains, you aren't going to run up and attack them. :p So you should have some indication that the people around you are a lot stronger then you, since you can't really tell by how "tough" their head looks. |
I prefer the 5 hearts and level 1 sword. (Like on 2001) All people can easily get the two hearts, so it makes sparring easier.

I like the 7 hearts and level 2 sword set up. Takes longer, but it's more fun. ;)

I think classic has the right idea with that Gretchen person. You simply dont kill anyone and you cant be hurt, so you can do the quests in peace until you want to fight.

A good idea
Level system is good..
Like in everquest News are level 1 Lets say a newb is in a pk level and theres like 2 people that are level 20 and try to attack the newb, they cant cause of Level range Like Pkers, For like level 1 only level 1 - 10 can pk level 11 - 20 21 - 30 so on you get the idea? |
He has a point there. I play on NP mostly. There's sort of an unwritten code of honor there about attacking newbies. It's looked upon as being dishonorful if you attack them.
I would like to play on G2K1 as well bu this account is disabled there. 5 hearts only on there equals= easy kill for me in less than a minute and maybe less than 30 seconds. :) Anyways I like how classic has their thing set up. You can't pk newbies unless they go and get a few kills. |
Isnt there something like this already.... when i enter a level it tells me how many hearts a person has over thier head...:p

I mean even fireball on 2k1 takes new players by suprise.. it does 1 heart damage and they only have 3 hearts.. plus they don't have any weapons other then their sword so you can get wiped pretty quick even with a 3 heart player that has fireball. |
mmmmkay: I think that is a horrible idea, one of the only fun things on graal is killing low-hearted people over and over....that would completely ruin graal.
|
lmao. Last night there was like 5 new people on NP. These guys were helping each other find stuff. So I had no poblem killing all of them. They fought back with hatever they had.
