It really isn't needed anymore. People mostly use it for:

Topic: OMG! BIG RUMOR!

ME>U!!!

Then whenever there was a rumor it was posted in other sections anyway.

Even when it was there people would post things like
"I heard a rumor that all the free PWs are getting shut down" in the PW section.

Things like
"I heard <staff member> is going to quit" in this forum.
