Okay, this is the story, one of my staff got hacked by some ***** (trojan and stuff). That hacker got access to the RC account and tried to disconnect my precious NPCs Server. By chance, only Admin accounts have Disconnect rights. Anyway, I IP Banned him.. i think it worked dunno, cant remember if its ipban.txt or ipbanned.txt

Ok so, here's something you should (pw owners) do: Since it's so easy to get 'hacked' nowadays, remove all disconnect rights, change all the IP ranges to 192.0.0.0 on RC accounts not being used and huh, be careful with who you trust.

Btw, Stefan disabled disconection rights, if you remove it, you cant get it back =P or he just did that on Faheria because of the idiot Royce disconnection the server once.

Anyway, I still cant believe some people either dont use firewalls or download exe they get in e-mails x_x (or something else they do to let the hacker get in their computer x_X)

Bassna constantly talks to me...I wonder why

Kindof hard to hack someone without the trojan which is all that ***** can do, he finds IPs then probably waits all day hoping they get sub-sevened, ask the person whos RC got 'hacked' if he downloaded any strange programs recently

LoL... so many hackers wasting their time... I know 2 good hackers... they both are my friends =D I hate hacking though... it's ebil to people.

I would turn the IP into his ISP and get him diconnected.. he will be lookin for a new isp :)

Unless he was SORT of smart and protected his real IP. You should have done a trace on him.

Me and my friends have dealt with alot of *******s on are Half-Life servers.. Don't let them get away, make them pay for there stupidity.

Thing is, you can't connect to graal through a proxy or wingate. The IP in the attrib window is the real IP.

Thing is, my friend is running Graal on both a proxy and WinGate. And I am using a proxy, so :p.

Hmm...I've always been told that you can't use a proxy to connect to graal :/

I don't use a proxy but I do use a router w/ hardware firewall and another firewall on each computer at home :p

Bassna hacked my RC using a sub7,

He was staff on UN for a while than hacked another staff member so he caould become a higher staff mmebr, then we fired and banend him he was ET on graal 2001 and than he started hacing accounts

Faheria_GP5...That was my account, and that prick has been hacking me for a very long time now. Made me have to reformat and everything

if you need a good firewall, I could hook you up with a nortan personal firewall 2002, just as long as you have a DSL, Cable, or better, I'm not sending something for 12 hours

Ah...Bassna...I've heard so much about him, and wouldn't mind at all if he found the edge of the earth, and walked right off, thus landing upon some jagged rocks and ending his life. *cough* But anyway, Why not set your RC so it only responds to your IP? Since he cannot hack FTP now, the only way he'd be able to hack your account, is for him to hack another. Sorry it happened, though. =/

he's only been notoriously hacking for about 7months, before that he was one of the biggest newbies i had ever seen on npulse, i logged him a few times on aim around that era, but i never saved the logs, he was dumb as hell, probably still is.

setting an IP range for use 56k users is not good since our IPs are dynamic and change with each logon...only static IP users should set the IP range in my opinion...just safe gaurd your password and be fairly tight on what RC rights you give your staff.

That too. =p I try to change my RC passwords frequently as well.

Any of our accounts we don't use the IP range is just "wiped out"
I go in and just erase it and leave it blank , that way no one can use it till an IP is put in. I also do this on Staff accounts that do not have RC , so even if they get on the Account with a Blank IP they cannot get on RC.And we change passwords once a month ...

Hacking is ***. So very, very, ***.

if u got norton antivirus and a bit of common sense u cant get hacked by trojans really.

erm.. IP protect all rc's u can. and if u cant lower the rights.
And free worlds are a lot more likely to get hacked, imagine having 150 ppl on the server and having to stay safe.
