log in/log off animations

i think there should be log in and log off animations. for example...

if you were standing around, and somebody logged in, you'd see some sort of nifty graphic or gani showing that somebody has logged in.

Yeah, or as was discussed in the main forum, have NPCs take over for the players when they're offline...wander around for 24 hours, take up any jobs otherwise occupied by normal NPCs, then go into a locked building until their owner logs on again...when the owner logs on they either find themselves working at the Fish Mart, or walking out of the hotel. ^_~

faheria does stuff like

NPC Code:

if (actionplayeronline) { //I think
setani login,;
}

in the control NPC

well, I suppose the system npc can have things like

if (created) setani login,;

because all the weapons do "created" when the player logs in

That'd be cool as long as it said "-Offline" next to your name, or people might start talking to you.. :p

for some reason i dont like that idea, what if you are in middle of a quest and then your computer freezes, then it takes a long time to get back on, then you might have to restart the quest

Tyhm 02-07-2002 10:11 AM

Well, if you're not on the map when you log off, then after 24 hours your NPC just vanishes when the room is clear of players, and you log on where you were.

[Squeaky!]
Except if there was some kind of bot build into Graal, which could give some fun conversations...

Stefan could steal *ahem borrow* the smarterchild script and incorporate it into graal, just like he stole *ahem borrowed* the body.png from ZeldaIII

Banjo180 02-11-2002 10:10 PM

hahaha

i swear...most of the stuff is copy-righted from other games..the ssj heads for example...and basically the whole game too...i'm not complaining but iy's funny that he hasn't gotten in trouble from the graphics of the levels (grass, sand, .etc).

Stefan just copied the general style of Zelda 3 tiles, and drew them for Graal.

zell12 02-12-2002 06:01 AM

He din't draw them, he programs the game, not make it better >=P
