Graal... RPG or not?
 

I'm pretty sure there was a thread about this before, but i'm not sure that we got Stefans opinion on it and what it really is.

Is Graal a Role-Playing Game, or is it an Adventure game? Or is it some other type of game? I know that a few friends of mine, and myself really want to know for sure what type of game Graal is. So feel free to post your comments on what you think, and hopefully stefan will post his words :)

I meant, what the original game was ment to be.

It's a chatroom in which you are able to see each other's characters.

i would think adventure, because up until version 1.4 or something the start menu read, "graal the adventure."

Yeah, i remember. But what about when you search for graal, or something like that, it comes up with RPG game Graal?

I always viewed graal as an adventure that people could RP in, kinda like an RPA.

graal is not that much advature when it came it out it was more an RP as i recall

Graal can be anything.

which each server its sometihng new; crap, notihng, RP, adventure, PK, ILLEGAL STUFF.

It's a roleplaying game, and it just happens to be the roleplaying game with the most potential for real roleplaying and the best environment for roleplaying, with the most customizability. I think Graal is the best role playing game ever.

it was "ment to be" a ripoff of zelda III, end of story

so whatever you would classify zelda III as is graal

Graal is and is not an RPG. Right now it's not, but it COULD be if Stefan actually knew how to make an RP server. =P

I don't think it's his decision.

Its everything and nothing.

Its what ever people develope it to be, hey, it could be a first person shooter, ever since the lights there has been some form of 3d I belive.

Adventure. You complete quests and other things as part of an "adventure." There isn't much else besides the ever so entertaining trades. Hardly any roleplay took place when I used to play often. It was all buy/sell junk after the quests were finished. I'm not sure what to call it anymore.
How about boring?

Yeah I agree.

Graal CAN BE whatever you want it to be if you how the talent to make it that. (you can make whatever kind of game you want really with graal....just make npcs for it , graphics, levels, etc.)

But if you asked me What IS GRAAL NOW? I would have to say that Graal 2001 is a very diverse Graal Online world. You have everything from the hats crazy people, the money crazy people , the people who are just happy to see bomys , the people who love events , to RP people , etc.
THere are many things people love to do there....
So its an RPG , Market Place , Chat room (for some) , etc.

Im gonna have to agree with Trueheat on this one,
its the best potential roleplaying game ever,
its the best roleplaying enviroment ever etc...
I had an idea for a little area and crap i was gonna make for RPing, but it will end up being completely deserted as most towns other then bomboria are anyway so it wouldnt function properly,
o well

Action if you are PKing, Adventure if you are questing, and otherwise a chatroom; oh, it can be (but rarely is) RPG.

Oh yah, and like Bird said and I failed to remember, it's a game engine to top all things off.

It is under the nonexistent classification as a Role Playing Adventure;)

It has to be RPG. You have one character, and you do stuff with him. That's where almost all the one character games go, under the RPG category
