Copyrights concerning the internet

Copyright concerning the internet..How do you copyright stuff on the internet..
like do i just have to put a copyright notice with whatever i show on the net or do i have to contact some office or something to obtain a legal copyright on the internet.

Hero_McDohl 02-02-2002 02:05 AM

Thats easy, look at rotten or Stile or uglypeople. They plaster their site url on every picture on their sites.

Slaktmaster 02-02-2002 02:07 AM

internet is a trademark of "archaon's company that tries to take over the world, inc."

Flameuss 02-02-2002 02:07 AM

umm wut?

feivel 02-02-2002 02:08 AM

Yay,
now i can post the graphics i made without them immedialty becoming owned by graal...
cus i mean not submitting but if i didnt say anyhting and just posted it here they can steal it cus its their web board,
but they cant take it if its already copyrighted..

Flameuss 02-02-2002 02:09 AM

lol X.X

cds96 02-02-2002 02:12 AM

It costs a lot to trademark something, can cost from 10k to 100k+

feivel 02-02-2002 02:14 AM

It costs money to trademark something like a product that is commercial and crap,
but i know you can copyright stuff on the Internet for free methinks.

Flameuss 02-02-2002 02:17 AM

yeah like makeing fake product copyrights is fun =)

feivel 02-02-2002 02:19 AM

NONONONO not fake copyrights...
Internet copyrights..
Like Kamuii's website is copyrighted..
Im sure he didnt pay thousands of dollars to copyright it..

Googi 02-02-2002 02:24 AM

Documents cost like $50 to copyright.

Psyker 02-02-2002 02:26 AM

copyrights also last for around 20 years, i think.

feivel 02-02-2002 02:28 AM

Im pretty darn shure that considering the internet is hard to moniter, that you can copyright anything to put on the internet just by putting a copyright and an accompanying copyright notice.

Birdbird_0 02-02-2002 02:34 AM

you acutaly pay money for a legal copyrite, and posibly some other things that deal with the distribution of it and aquiring of stuff related to it.

Like, everything and anything submitted to graal becomes graalonline property

feivel 02-02-2002 02:35 AM

Yes i know but im saying cant i just put a copyright notice to prevent anyone from stealing it, FROM ME ON THE INTERNET.

plastering a copyrite notice on something does not make it copyrited automaticly.

feivel 02-02-2002 02:37 AM

cus if I made it..
it is my property..

yeah, but!
if they were to look under the copyrites and not find yours, they could press charges and copyrite your work for temselfs and take it.

feivel 02-02-2002 02:40 AM

No i meant it was to my knowledge that on the internet you didnt have to pay for copyrights if you were copyrighting your own stuff on the internet just so no one could take it without your permission

Wing 02-02-2002 02:45 AM

http://www.whatiscopyright.com

or it could be .org or .net, try it

feivel 02-02-2002 02:50 AM

Is there any possible FREE way to make it so no one can steal it??

feivel 02-02-2002 02:55 AM

Whooohoooo that thing says that I can copyright my stuff for free... but if I want to have a lawsuit, I have to register my copyright, and then sue...
but i dont expect to be getting in any lawsuits unless someone makes trillions of dollars off that hat graphic..
therefore my copyright is valid!!!!
