Add Direct3D support/switch to DirectX8 Graphics!

Ok, Stefan, I think you need to do this. For one, on Murasamune, anyone without light effects will NOT be able to play...if they disable light effects, they will be frozen until the re-enable it. This is because Murasamune has TONS of things which require players not to cheat by not having light effects...for instance, it gets very dark at night, and it should be hard to navigate. Without light effects, it makes the whole concept void...

Stefan, computers have advanced so much, and 3D cards aren't exactly new anymore. People without them have comps from like 1998, and thats pretty old.

Just add 3D support...for those who want to make there servers compatible, they won't use the features. For people like me, who must have these features, you might as well hand it to us full blast.

Thank you, hopefully you will see the light. And hopefully you will even rewrite the engine so it has 2 modes, one for DD and one for D3D, and D3D could use texturing so you could actually zoom pretty far in without ground looking like crap...just a thought.

Anywho, graal would be GREATLY improved with 3D support, please consider.

I know how it feels. I was programming a mine in which it got dark and you needed an lantern to see. Well, my solution was make the player walk very slow if they didn't have light effects on. Only problem is that there is no way for Graal to detect if players can or can not see the seteffect command. =/

Or just setbackpal blackpal.png; if they have lighting disabled and setbackpal pics1.png if they have it enabled. Works out about the same.

Tyhm, that doesn't draw over other players though. The whole point of night is so criminals, assasins, and all those kinds of people can do there dirty works (yes, Murasamune will allow crimes, if no body ever finds out. It will need to work like real life, if there is an evidence pointing to you, you will get jailed and hanged or beheaded or something...).

Which means no one should be able to see them at night, and with backpals you can see other characters.

Well if that's your problem, showstats 1023;

Then if you're lame enough to turn off DX, you can't see anybody, not even yourself, not even a little.

!!!! Excellent! Then I could do a client showimg to show your shadow maybe, and a message on top which says in annoying letters:

ENABLE DIRECT3D

Hah! That would be perfect!
