Bug fix release v2.13 revision3

A new Graal version has been released,
many bugs have been fixed. Start the setup
program again to get the new exe.

-----------------------------------------
New features/bug fixes in v2.13 revision3
-----------------------------------------

- the script command destroy works again
- fixed compatibility with Win95/98
- the setstring command sends the new string variable
correctly to the server
- the script variable graalversion is now 2.13
(instead of 2.1)
- in the offline mode the player is on the normal
layer like it is supposed to, so he is not drawn
on top of objects anymore and arrow and projectiles
work again
- the not recommended script command playersays() works
again (the script is called when the player says something);
but better use if (playerchats && strequals(#c,...))
- several fixes of the editor mode: caching of levels in
the memory, position of the player when clicking on 'play',
dragging baddies, npcs and chests onto a level works like in
old days (you can release the mouse button and then move the
object if you don't want to keep it pressed)
- fixed memory leaks
- npc actions are deleted when leaving a level (so
when using setlevel/setlevel2 then it is not producing
an endless loop)
- emoticons are not hiding weapon showimgs anymore,
emoticons have the index 0 (so don't use index 0 for
showimg if you don't want it to be hidden when an emoticon
is displayed)
- npcservers can now attach players to local npcs (was producing
warping errors before)
- detection for players that are in 'hidden under carried object' mode
but don't carry anything
- optimized loading and 'playerenters' for npcs on graal2002 maps

Woohoo!

Slaktmaster 01-28-2002 07:47 PM

At last, thank you. :)

Hero_McDohl 01-28-2002 07:47 PM

Is it a mandatory download? Im still using a version from 2 updates ago.

James205 01-28-2002 07:48 PM

Hopefully the offline map editor mode(when levels are connected) will allow images and wont delete the levels now :)

Did you fix the predefined objects bug? When you click a predefined object in the sidebar, it will paste itself on the ground below the toolbar.

someome please post the new graal version in a zip please
please
my graal is corrupted because of an old shortcut on my desktop :grrr: :grrr:

Admins 01-28-2002 09:04 PM

James I already said that using 2048x512 pixel
images for npcs is kinda stupid and not meant to
be used in Graal. Use things like door.png instead if
setimgpart pics1.png,...; Someone started to use
pics1 (which means using another 4MB or more
video ram) and somehow still some people are using
it

AlkarenHyralt 01-28-2002 09:07 PM

Yay for Stefan. :)

Loriel 01-28-2002 09:07 PM

I believe there is another bug, I have no clue where it comes from, but whenever I did changes to my level, it just replaced the changed stuff with grass tiles. Ebil, huh?

Admins 01-28-2002 09:08 PM

?

Loriel 01-28-2002 09:10 PM

Example:
I put a chair from the tileset thingie, or objects menu into my level. It's quite showing, but whenever I do something that causes the level to be redrawn (play it, move the chair, etc), it just gets all grassy.
May be spiffy for ecologists, but not for level designers :(
I redownloaded the old version, and it works now :(

You see that pic1.png? I didnt place it there. For some reason that is soppose to be my door but when I play it shows that. If I try to put a image on and play it completly deletes the level.

freddyfox 01-28-2002 09:23 PM

My setup is broken. It displays no packet information, and when I download it and try to run it manually, it says I need to download revision2 to play on the server. Can anyone help?

Kasuagi 01-28-2002 09:23 PM

yup, loriel is right

same thing happen to me. the level generator, and new graal shop aren't in the files i download from the setup?!

why doesn't stefan just make them stand-alone programs instead of compiling them with the actual exe files in the full download

Erm, isn't pics1.png automatically in RAM because the level is made out of it?

Yeah after such a long time u fixed it *kisses Stefan* *dies UAHHHHHHHRGHHHH X_x* :p

ArchOwl 01-28-2002 10:08 PM

stefan, try to make a setimagedef to where you can add any type of graal image like bomb1 or state.png or the w(items) or sprite, etc.

it would HELP ALOT with some playerworlds.
