go read the cactus NPC in Santerrain and it will explain everything. it says something about a fire from the sky wiping out a forest of red trees, and leaving a desert I'm guessing |

Heh, believe it or not, the desert idea was first entertained by TrueHeaT and I way back when G2k1 first started. We both love desert tiles and we were seriously considering making the desert in that exact location you are talking about. (Between Antora and Dustari.)
So, before anyone jumps and says they came up with idea, better think again. ;) |
There was a post by true heat about a desert along time ago, and Dustari was suposd to be rebuild on a desert before.
|
The cactus is naïve.
|
dustari = not desert like, the way the levels are is more like ense tropical rainforest

As vapour clouds pass over the mountains, they lose much of density over the mountain, therefore leaving little or no rain on the places below. MANY deserts are located near mountains. |
