List of New RC Bugs
Here are the bugs I have found in the new rc..
1)File names are always sent as lowercase, even when you rename and it has uppercase characters. I guess Stefan did this b/c image files and levels need to be lowercased, but the downfall to this is that it basically makes giving some1 access to guild folder useless b/c guilds are case sensitive. 2)It doesnt always open files w/ the internal viewer. I have nothing linked w/ Netscape and it still opened some image files w/ Netscape. Txt files were linked to Notepad, I changed to wordpad and it still opened w/ Notepad. 3)Txt files are downloaded w/ new line characters. Try viewing/editing a txt file, it shows the actual newline character instead of a newline for some reason. (wrapped) 4)When you drag and drop from the file browser to your windows, (have only tested w/ txt files), if the file is uppercase it tries to download the file but w/ a lowercased name and then goes "FAILED" (file is made w/ 0 bytes.. empty). After this it thinks that you are uploading a file and makes the same file on the server as a lowercased file name. Also the file it makes is 0 bytes. 5)PUTNPC isnt working. I guess its not downloading the txt files correctly from the server??? I even tried adding lines to the folder options. 6)Not reallya bug but the updatelevel command when you do /help doesnt show up in green ;D Thats all I found.. |
Here is another one..
if your staff guy nick name is ¥ooƒ00 (GP) or something like that that contains the "weird" ASCII characters it changes their nick to the account name instead of the nick.. (might not be bug) |
ooooooooooo
i found a error in the new rc when u change your nick name, it says "UnholyNation_RC21 changed >> his << nick to LiL PiXiE KiTiE blah" it says his =X what if it was a girl instaed of a guy? if it were, then its should be "UnholyNation_RC21 changed >> her << nick to LiL PiXiE KiTiE blah" lol |

"UnholyNation_RC21 changed their nick to LiL PiiXiE KiTiE blah". That way if it's a guy who has the playerisfemale flag for some reason, or a girl with playerismale, or whatever, it covers everyone and everything. If Piccolosan came on RC, it wouldn't try to guess his gender. |

like it adds the npc but the txt file doesnt d/l (adds only img) |
PutNPC's busted on Classic too. *shrugs*
|
Worth noting: On Classic, txt was listed as in levels and as in levels/gifs. Gonna try moving all txts to a new folder and changing the folder setup, that might fix it. At the least it'll solve the problem of there being no filter button! >_<
|
The lower/upper case was fixed a few minutes ago, download the new RC (2002/01/13)

Most stuff has been fixed, for the upper case filenames
you need RC 2002/01/13. Putnpc is fixed (it was searching for a level instead for a normal 'file'). Text files are transferred like normal files, as binary. Graal uses a compatible reading of text files, has no problems with unix/dos format, so its up to you. |
Heres a couple,
1. When you have "set '-away' when playerlist is closed" and you have no tag in your name. then when you open the playerlist it says you change your name, make it so it doesn't read that '-away' tag... 2. Sometimes the nicknames turn to normal text type, nstead of like green... I don't know what causes this though... |

Yes level files must actually be saved as lowercase.
For green text there is a limit of 30 characters now so that you cannot do fake colored 'Stefan: Yes you are now GM' text by using the /open command with a very long 'account' name |
Here's a bug I noticed:
Sometinmes after you or someone else type something in the chat, the chat automatically scrolls up to a certain point and you have to scroll back down to read the new text |
Here is another one my staff found..
if you put (RC) tag you can set to any nickname UnholyNation_Admin1 changed his/her nick to Stefan (RC) see |
I don't think that was a bug, but the staff should know better than to do that.
Impersonation can get them banned. |
