Era of Legends : Review

I was expecting better. :(

- You seem to have no storyline, but that's fine with me as long as it's a pretty good server.

- The Disruption Meter is pretty cool. I like how you are able to customize it!

- Classes, classes, classes... you have 12 classes. Most of them are very unoriginal, also. Swordsman and Warrior... aren't they almost the same? :(

- The first level you enter in after leaving the main area and "Joke Bot" (:D) is the house level that was in the Graal Level Making Guides a while ago... and I know this, because I took that guide when I first started level making. Anyway.

The levels are filled with predefined objects, and some have many tile errors. Some levels are very plain and unoriginal, and most of the houses are practically the same. (tile errors included.) Some levels don't even look like they are completed. Everything is blocky.

- The NPCs are nice. Like I said, the Disruption Meter is pretty cool. But... predefined NPCs? Not good.

- The level links are badly assigned.

- Some quests are impossible to complete without sufficient weapons. (I had no sword, no money, and only a bomb, bow, and boomerang and in the first quest I went into I wasn't able to harm the lizardons at all)

- Nothing special about the geography.

AlexH 01-13-2002 08:56 AM

will we ever get a good pw in the making :(
the only one ive seen promising is Masamune (probally spelt wrong) but thats still no where near complete :(

Psyker 01-13-2002 09:06 AM

I'm looking forward to Faheria, Dragoden Koden, and Muramasamune being completed.

Kasuagi 01-13-2002 09:07 AM

Psyker...

maybe you should start juding them on certain criterias

Originality, Levels, Complexity, Weapons, Quests, RolePlaying, and so on

Maybe. My reviews are juggled around, so I guess I'll have to organize it.

BlKnight 01-13-2002 09:14 AM

but like you said their online so they can give us lil teasers
the only Pw that im looking foward to thats not online is Murasamune (i spelt it right this time :) )but id rather that went online like ToT and Faheria and only had a few lvls open to the public so you could get all your NPCs working perfectly and then release the full completed thing. that way it would be a bigger surprise and hopefully a worthwhile playing p2p world

Slaktmaster 01-13-2002 09:34 AM

Sad, isn't it? :(

Thats what I want to do, but I doubt Stefan would allow it to happen. I think he will let it go up once I get at least some place to explore and a few things to do...

But yes, if we did go up, I would only allow a few public levels...or maybe even make it one level thats kinda like a website. It would be like a title screen, it would have options for news, screenshots, things like that. Eventually once we are completely done, it would have the option of Start...hmm yes..thats what I will do...

well, sorry. :)

Faheria_LAT3 01-13-2002 10:27 AM

Please take in mind that when Faheria was first opened it WAS NOT a test server...due to the low P2P account upgrades and the large popularity of Graal2001, we didn't have many players, so we decided to re-do the server and make it even better so when there were more account upgrades there would be more players when we re-opened. The only server which went up as an underconstruction server was ToT.

which we will stop to do because of the things and unique ideas stolen by G2K2 (yes I did show around GodSpeed when he came online because thats my job :()

and I saw many other G2K2 staff coming to check out our server and the results are seen on G2K2. -_-'

Before we get goin', I want to let you know that Zayjee is my brother (younger than me he is :D). I am really appalled that you did a very poor job on reviewing this Playerworld. From what I have been told from my brother, it seems that you neglected to follow through several processes such as picking a class. Had you had done that, you would have been given your weapons.

As for the house, my brother has requested that you post a picture that proves he stole that level. He says that he made it from scracth.

He also has said that his first few levels aren't that good because that was his first time using the editor about a year ago.

As for the tiles, Zayjee says that you might not have the correct tileset which would be the current default that comes with graal when you run setup.exe

He said he did forget to send some images and levels and has also fixed a few things and would like to know if you want him to resubmit it.

He would have posted this sooner, but his forum account is not working.

He's your brother? Interesting.

I picked a class. The "Plain" class.

I don't have a picture, sorry... I know he made it from scratch, because I did the same thing. I think Ace06284(forgot the number combination) created the guide, because I vaguely remember the guide saying to "make sure you put a baddie on the outside as a security guard for your house!" or something like that.

Oh. Well, please detail them before you re-submit, Zayjee.

Yeah, Lash told me. I'd prefer if you fixed everything up first, then re-submit.

Oh. Why not?

G_yoshi 01-13-2002 10:52 PM

He doesn't know why it doesn't work...but you can check and he does have a forum account. He complains that the password does not work and that when he tries to get the password via email, it tells him that the email address does not exists or something like that.
