Murasamune Updates

1 Attachment(s)
Yes, there is already one of these, but it is getting old.

I have fixed the map, it now works with the key combinations. Had to find a different way besides while, and I did.

As for tiles no new ones yet. Only new thing is what I just said ;). I will post a screen of the current tiles for those who did not see the new ones from the last thread...

[edit] put the new tree here, since this will be the most downloaded file...the new tree looks better then the old. If you want to see the old, dig up the old thread.

ZanderX 01-13-2002 02:45 AM

Yeah, looks great.

'Cept, the trees. The upper part of the branches and leaves looks wonderful, but the underside...it's...blue/purplish...Fix? :)

Bah...ok I will test it. I will replace the blue colors with the green one, and watch how bad it will look....

BlKnight 01-13-2002 02:53 AM

Ok test complete. Just like I said, they look horrible without the blueness.

Waltz5 01-13-2002 04:04 AM

Definately a very promising pw... looks great :)

Could we see it without the blueness? At least I think that's the only effective way of making sure everyone thinks it looks horrible.

LiVeToDiE 01-13-2002 05:34 AM

Thats Fricken Awesome.

Ok, I improved the tree. It still has blue, believe it or not, I just blended it a little more perfect then last time. Take a look.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that now that the map NPC is done, we get to begin "the real stuff". We have basicly everything system wise done, and trust me, there are alot of system things... although the assign stuff in the menu system still needs to be completed...plus, I suspect, once we ever get online, all the NPCs will have 34509783450 small bugs...mainly because I used serverside indexes on the showimgs and don't know much about NPC server, so although offline we have alot done, half the work will be for nothing when we get online. But anywho, I just need to script the gui, oh and the damage system...both will be pretty simple to make. Bleh...then theres the magic system...the last hard thing I must do. The level up system is the simplest of the 4 things left to do system wise...

After we get the systems done, we add the story and levels. The gameplay aspect is not very linear either, many options. Yes, there will be a story. But, you can choose to follow it, and become the hero...or you can become mayor of a town. Or you can find an old castle, clear out the monsters and destroy a huge demon, and become a king. Or..adventure the sees looking for lost treasures on islands. There are so many different paths, and you choose your role.

Maybe in 2 months we will be ready to submit...hat doesn't mean we will be near done, we won't be done for a very long time.

The grass needs fixing on the side of the house near the roof and around the rocks. Other than that, I think it looks great :) .

Python523 01-13-2002 08:39 AM

It looks really good :)
Is the body, legs, and hands a little off centered? I think I can see some of the graa in spaces between where they are suppose to connect

No, look closer. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to ganis.

I have updated the day/night, and I'm working on integrating our 6 system NPCs into 1 or 2 NPCs...

Day/Night works realisticly, when its night, you can barely see anything. This makes the perfect atmosphere for criminals, or ones who need stealth. The only way of travel at night is with a lantern, unless you are willing to take high risks. Even then, you must beware of criminals, assasins, and cruel monsters. Usually at night, you should stay indoors, and around others where there is much light. If you believe you are strong, and you must go to areas which require night to enter, then you should travel at night. Yes, some areas will react to time. Maybe islands out in the seas will have secret caves, sealed to open at an exact time...

Here is what it looks like near the peak of night, at 11:15 PM...

Figure it out yourself, put yourself in a level with an effect set to 0,0,0.1 then give yourself the lattern gani, the 2k1 will probably only be a little less brighter than murasamune's

Well, if you're traveling without a latern, no one can see you, right? Then how would a criminal or assassin kill you if they can't see you? (assuming that they arn't NPCs)

Maybe Murasamune will have some kind of skill that makes a certain 'class' be able to see at night?

.... no, no classes, I thought I made that clear, only races.... if you wanna be a "thief" then just kill people and steal stuff, if you wanna be an archer then learn bow stuff, if you wanna be a wizard then learn magic. simple as that. maybe a certain race (empyrian) can see at night, but not a class

Slaktmaster 01-14-2002 01:26 PM

I think this night idea is really cool.

Empyrian?

Empryia(singular of "Empyrian") was the name of a nation on Valikorlia.

Faheria_LAT3 01-14-2002 01:39 PM

Soul Blade, if I were you I would keep your ideas for Murasamune secretly..if not, don't be surprised if you see some of them showing up on Graal2002. :\

That is what we in the business call a low blow to the Graal 2002 team/project.

Like what?

There are lots of ideas floating around that anyone could claim as copied. Unless they are 100% unique to Faheria and no one else ever thought of them... :\

Boo hoo.

BlKnight 01-14-2002 09:02 PM

Woah lots of questions...
I will post a screen with lantern after I figure how people will use the lantern...it will either be a keycombo, or you can assign it. Probably make it assign...

That screen btw, it is not 0,0,0,0.1.;, it is a bit brighter then that...alot actually.

W-Dragoon, I have been in a full moon, with lots of stars...but it is still VERY dark. Of course, you would have to go camping away from a city...

Kamuii, the Empyrian is a bat-gargoyle-human type race. Once we get the ganis for that and integrate it, I will tell more about it...or W-Dragoon will, since it was his idea.

Concerning classes, it is exactly as W-Dragoon says.

Heh, and Shadrock, we are keeping lots of things secret..but I mean, lots of our ideas are very unique. If they have anything we came up with, it should be obvious...but these are just beginning ideas. There are alot more things which need to be done, which no one will know about until we are complete.

BlKnight 01-14-2002 09:30 PM

Oh yeah...a few things...

That clock and time thing you see, I'm gonna fix that as soon as I finish the gui...

And about others seeing you when you have the lantern, yes they will be able to, and very clearly at that. If you have good armor, and are a good level, then it should be ok.

Brad0629 01-15-2002 04:50 AM
