The Damn Editor - Read Stefan

The new interface is great. I love it.

BUT IT'S BUGGED TO THE BONE

I lost scripts all the time, especially weapon scripts. If you change the image of the weapon the script is completely deleted when you try the level. I just lost THREE HOURS OF WORK because of this!

FIX!

Actually they will screw up if you do something like a Graal2002 Simulator (crashed a few times on me when I made it) after that it worked fine try exiting graal then reloading the level it should still be there if you saved it

tghat happens to me
if i make a lvl with or without NPCs (usually with) and i click to play level and it wont let me play so i press F4 to go back to the editor my lvl is gone along with my NPCs and its back to all the left grass tiles
something needs to be done about it
but hopefully the lil guy can kept

You ever notice Stefan used to make you save the game before? Save before that!

Slaktmaster 01-11-2002 02:33 PM

It automatically saves when you play the level and that is when it screws up. So the problems SAVE THEMSELF as well!

I haven't ever had any problems with it, but then again I don't normally make any levels beyond the casual all grass tiles one to test NPCs in. And I usually script my NPCs in notepad, means I always have a backup of an older version in case I mess up, and it also means Graal isn't eating up some of my system resources.

I don't work on servers quite simply because I do not like working for someone and having obligations.

Um please describe the problem better, such thing
never happened to me

Andor_Admin1 01-14-2002 02:41 AM

Sometimes when I create a new level, add stuff (tiles, npcs, etc), play the level, press F4, change the level or an NPC/NPCs, when you try to play the level the second time, it makes the whole level the current background tile and deletes all NPCs, etc in the level. This gets annoying because you have to redo the level again because it saves the level when you play it.

konidias 01-14-2002 09:20 PM

Yes this has happened to me as well.. Sometimes I open a level and it's all the left grass tile.. Then I open some other level and it opens fine.. it's very strange.. :(

Falcor 01-14-2002 09:30 PM

Happend to me too but not all grass tiles, maybe it fills the level with your fill tile? (the one where it fills if you rightclick) but you lose everything. Ususally happends after you edit an npc or someshit.

Admins 01-15-2002 09:19 PM

Um but when exactly

Slaktmaster 01-15-2002 09:32 PM

Thanks for replying at last. ;)

Sometimes NPC's are deleted from the levels when it's a weapon script and you change the NPC image and them play the level.

I lost my whole space game due to this. ;/

BARGAD 01-15-2002 10:21 PM

For me this usually happens when I open a old level (.graal and not .nw)

The background turns to the tile i currently have selected and when I try to play the level graal freezes and have a not responding comment when I do CTRL+Alt+delete :(

/Gori

Same thing happened to me here, but oddly enough, that topic died without trace. So it's not an isolated incident. I got my playerhouse wiped and nearly destroyed my 60-level world with that bug.
