Samurai picture!

Tell me what you think of my samurai drawing :)
I know it probably isn't using exact details and stuff, and the sword probably looks nothing like samurai or whatever.. but I drew it all in one sitting and completely off the top of my head :)

Here it is:

Very nice... too bendy though.

Brad0629 12-19-2001 05:16 AM

I dont like it.

AlkarenHyralt 12-19-2001 05:21 AM

The swords looks western, rather than eastern.

Heh, I make small complaints like that, about weapons. Don't mind it, it is a pet peeve you might say.

It a very good drawing though. :)

Psyker 12-19-2001 05:36 AM

that looks pretty good. besides the fact that he looks like he's been tossed around like a basketball.

feivel 12-19-2001 05:56 AM

draw that on paper, or in a paint program?

Faheria_LAT1 12-19-2001 06:06 AM

That samurai isn't as wise as the one you'll find by clicking here

yoshee15 12-19-2001 06:09 AM

heh a Samurai Panda

feivel 12-19-2001 06:22 AM

Who drew THAT picture

konidias 12-19-2001 06:31 AM

you can't do that kind of smoothing in paint manually
or pretty much anywhere manually for that matter
you made a 250 color drawing in paint and somehow made the edges completely smooth, like anti aliasing?

_0AfTeRsHoCk0_ 12-19-2001 06:35 AM

I think it's not bad at all. I was about say that that the picture looked a little too "square" (I guess you can say unnatural looking) but for drawing that in paint I can understand why it looks like that. It's nice work though

feivel 12-19-2001 06:37 AM

I cant draw for **** in MS Paint,
but can draw a little bit with a pencil,
thing is,
it looks bad ocmpared to what you do in paint lol

FatherDante 12-19-2001 09:09 AM

I wouldn't take Alkaren's unauthorized voice as accurate: Many japanese swords look just like that one. It's very nice, I love it.

Hey, Konidias, can you do colorations? I like pencil drawings but a computer colorer would be nice. Otherwise, I have to learn how to use color pencil. :P

Faheria_LAT3 12-19-2001 09:14 AM

Hm, it's ok. But his feet look wierd and the shading on the pants need a little fixing. Also the sleeves are really big. o.O

Other than that it's pretty cool, but did you make it bigger and resize it to give the smoothness? Because there is no other way to make it look like that in paint.

feivel 12-19-2001 10:20 AM

and Dante just for the record,
i only hate you IC,
and OOC i dislike you sometimes,
but pleeeese stop being mean to me,
and lol the only thing I can draw is a samurai dude man lol

evilive 12-19-2001 08:05 PM

Hmm... looks spiffy.... but it could use some work to actually look like a samurai, like the sword :(

There's nothing wrong with the sword. The only thing that doesn't look like a samurai is the obvious: He's wearing a hat that no samurai would wear.

JubeiSaotomeX 12-19-2001 09:33 PM

it's unrule

Dlaiyre 12-19-2001 09:55 PM

evilive 12-19-2001 10:54 PM

So I shrunk it a bit using Image Composer.. :)

Here is the actual sized paint picture:
http://graal.anenga.com/samuraibig.gif

If I wanted to smooth that out manually I would just replace the black lines that are "jaggy" with darker or same variations of the color next to it. But I didn't want to spend any more time on it lol

Yes I can do colorations from black and white pencil drawings :)

If you really want to make some nice computer art then you need a drawing tab (I need one myself) because people do amazing things with those.. They color Spawn comic books using a drawing tab ;)

My mouse was made in the 80's it's square and an ibm mouse that came off of an old school computer. It's pretty smooth but it gets dirty quickly. :p

It actually works better then the crappy new mouse I bought that kept sticking and jumping every 10 seconds.

I have been drawing in paint for about 5 years or something... It gets easy after so long.. Using photoshop and stuff is awkward to me because of all the stupid new tools that I don't need and crappy "effects" that I would never use.. plus the most basic things take like 14 clicks of your mouse to perform using photoshop or paintshop.. It's so much easier for me using paint :)

BeZeRkEr 12-22-2001 11:54 AM

i wish i had paint still
norton deleted liek alot of my .dll and .exe
f'ed my comp..
my sound driver died.. and i had 30 error messages at start up
and now my comp freezes all the time >_<

send me the paint.exe lelz
