Yes that's true that a stupid guy has exploited a bug on our new portal to change some informations in the database.

It's not a hacker it's only someone that read security forums about security exploits and use them on peoples computers, you don't need to be intelligent to do that just know how to read english and type text on a computer.

This is a minor problem, most of the informations collected by this guy are public and he have not been able to do any bad things.

Since everything we do is done with graal players, people can try to steal informations that are already public, this will make those peoples more stupid.

About passwords, you can sleep well there is no way to have your password, they are encrypted one way in the database and even me and Stefan can not known them.

About the guy that have done it, he is not very intelligent because we have been able to trace him and we now known his name and address, we have contacted the american police and he will soon have troubles.

You must known that we will have a 0 tolerance against peoples that do credit card fraud or security attack, all reports are sent to police for investigation and even if this peoples think they have not been caught, one day or another police will ring there home for investigations, and trust me that if we caught someone we will sue him to make a example.

It's not acceptable that a few peoples just known to have fun when peoples are in troubles, if they have brain problems some specialised doctor can probably help them.

The only results of peoples doing such things are Stefan and Me loosing half a day of work and this is time we don't put to work on Graal.

Now, it will give to much favor to this guy or group of guys to speak of this little event to much, then let's focus on improving the new web site and making the next release of graal (graal2002).

You've never heard of trooper? He's been on Graal since before you or me, and what he said is true. If you're not a government law enforcement agency you can't do anything, only report the crime and hope they get caught.

I think its good that they are going to make an example of people like him, because people who are honest and pay to play all get shafted by one person. Its about time something like this has happened

You people seem to be missing the point. Getting rid of hackers is all well and god, but the truth is Graal staff can't get a hold of someones adress, name etc. so UnixMad, stop lying.

Maybe if you had the brain power to understand what I meant you wouln't be saying that. UnixMad claims he got the hackers name and adress BEFORE he contacted the police, thus claiming to have done so himself (Or another Graal admin or other) So i'm not saying law enforcement agencies cannot track people over the net... they can, however Graal admin is NOT a law enforcement agency and non-government orginisations have no ability to track people over the net.

You should understand what a person says before you make a fool of yourself.

if they traced his IP and Port they could use sub7 to get on his com and then go and see who it's registered by and they more then likly have there name and adress in there and probably more stuff that they are unaware of and while u were there u could delete some stuff from his com and change his background and color and piss him off and then destroy his harddrive so his com will stop working. then u could put a matrix style msg up on his scree saying" ah ha u suxors donkei d*ck".

Unixmad most likely had their IP, and when you're a big business, you usually have one or two tools that can trace IPs. Heck, I bet you could even find some of those tools on the internet just on a Yahoo search.
Most likely, the police would not go so far as to track the person, because they would need some information(which Unixmad obtained himself), dealing with the internet attack. Unixmad would probley hand over the information to the police, so that the police can carry out the law.

i better get all my npc's and gralat back. if i don't, i'm going to be one angry customer. damn hackers! leave my account alone. :eek:

Well, regardless of what you think, I stand by trooper. I've known him longer than any of you, so I trust his opinion more than any of yours. Remember though, that I just support and share his view. errr that would be the FBI there genious and the FBI is way more advanced than the police... also, you can spoof your ip like 50 times so they cant trace you. or disconnect your perm. internet account and use your dial-up then when finished, cancel the dial up, it isnt that hard. better yet, get a free dialup i garuntee they dont keep ip logs...

Well Cyberjeouer isn't a very big company...it's two guys who have a bunch of kids run the game for them. ;)

How we have caught this guy is easy:

1) He have used is personal web site to store files for this hacking

2) We have a lot of logs about what he have done, including packet trace, webs logs, IP reverse trace, Credit card Fraud.

3) He was on IRC with other peoples to speak about this hacking

4) He gave to some peoples private files from graal2002 project

We have filled 3 complaints against this guy, the last one is on the Internet Fraud Complaint Center driven by the FBI with the number I01112908574441

If you have more informations about this guy: named Rick Smith (Aka Mold) you can send them to me and i will send them to the FBI for investigation.

Hey ***** I never said a million. And letting kids run a game is so great, that's why these forums are filled with complaints and whining. You're the one that should grow up.

Hurrah for unixmad...I think letting the players help run the game is a good idea, it cuts back on costs and still keeps order just the same as a herd of minimum wage workers would as GPs.
