About account upgrading...
 

Okay. As we all know, Graal 2002 is coming out, and for many of us it may mean it's time to upgrade those accounts again!

We have heard you will be able to play Graal 2002 on a normal upgraded account (this has not been confirmed by Stefan yet)

So I went to look about re-upgrading my Zulithe account at the new www.graal2001.com website (I will not actually upgrade it until I know for sure what the new policy will be) And I have some questions! I noticed a few things...

When you click the 'subscription' link on the left of the site under the "Members" cateogry, you are prompted to enter your username and password (or create new account if you need one) so I enter my name/password and click "Enter NOW"

Then you are brought to a window that says: "Please take time to register your profile, this data will only be used for billing or support." Okay, but for us US citizens there is no place to enter your STATE. Well I guess that isn't all that important to this process, so anyway, when you finish filling that out in the next window... it says

"The Graal shop has following items
Graal2001 new account(9euro) + 12 months membership(20euro) = 29 euro ($27)
Graal2001 new account(9euro) + 6 months membership(10euro) = 19 euro ($18)
Graal2001 new account(9euro) + 3 months membership(6euro) = 15 euro ($14)"

Well, my account is not new, it hasn't even run out yet, it has over two months left O_o So why do I need to pay 9euro for a 'new account' ? Assuming I wanted to buy a 12 month account, shouldn't I only need to pay 20euro? Just a question...

but my account still has 170days left on it so i'll be here a long time before i need to upgrade my acc again

if you had posted it in bug reports he would have read it
he checks that fourm a lot

Once you upgrade your account,
it resets to whatever you upgraded it for.
Example:
You have 100 days left, and you upgrade for a year.
You have 365, and that 100 days disappears.
Just wait until it runs out to re-upgrade it.

well that isnt very fair is it?
someone should fix that so it keeps your days on it

Brad is upgrading a miss-ayatollah account for me for christmas. :D

Lets look at that... the minimum cost is $14, and the amount of users that have upgraded have to be at least 1000.

1000 accounts X $14 = 14000
1000 accounts X $18 = 19000
1000 accounts X $27 = 27000

Don't you think thats enought money for a little game like this? Unless 2002 gets like 100000000000000000000 times better than 2001 is likem im not going to pay a single penny for another account.

In addition to that, they have to pay for the servers which allow non-paying customers to play on...

You're forgetting about server cost/maintenance, hardware, and of course paying unixmad and Stefan. :O

If Stefan got some major company to invest in him and have him and a team work on graal (Coding Team,) it'd probably run better. One person (stefan) is doing all of the updates, while another is helping plan and control it financially. Company.


Graal has potential, but with the administrative system it has now, I don't really feel like paying for it.

yes graal has potential but it needs money to hire professional programmers to help stefan, professional coders to script NPCs, professional level designers and most of all professional GFXs artists.

I don't know if we will ever reach that level, but it would be nice

idoubt it if it will reach that lvl myself but it already has great

scripters - Stefan, Kyle, Kai (wherever hes went to) etc.

Lvl Designers - well it has a lot but only a few who are really good

GFX PPl - This is where its limited. Just People like Krakken, Kondias not to many

too bad you can't upgrade twice and get an account with 730 days.

if it's true that it will become much much more expensive later on then that would be a good idea.

See, that is what you *should* be able to do. But the system is flawed. I hope Stefan will see this thread

i dont think graal would be as good with all that profesanal stuff it would be less like a community and be more like UO where hardley any1 knows each other.

more than a 1000 accs have been upgraded cos there is bout 1060 forum accoutn and only bout half probably register on the forums

You have a good point there, about the community aspect! I just hope Stefan comments on the 'price' aspect of this post... if he reads it >_<
