It seems the angry parents of some Coloumbine victims are going to try and sue ID software, and the creators of the movie "The Basketball Diaries" because they blame them for some messed up kids. It's a sad world. |
very sad.
|
sadder than sad its self =(
|
haha
That is very sad :( |
damn americans, no offence to some of you guys though
|
Personally, i think those parents need to get over it.....whats done is done.......though i do feel bad for them, it probably would be better if they just moved on.....
for the most part.......it is the fault of parents for not watching their children.....that is 1 reason why these things happen. |
Well, None of that stuff happens where i live
|
has anyone noticed that all these things mainy happen in america. This is the only nation in the world where you can go out and buy firearms.......dosen't that tell you something

but as for the other thing, there might be a little influence coming from television etc. But I don't think that's a major factor for kids being messed up, I think it mostly has to do with how their parents raise them ;) |
i dont even know why there is such a big upset on school shootins. there what like one reported incident related to violence every one or so months, but everyday kids are being killed by abusive parents. there are a lot more things to worry about than school shootings.
damn money-hungry parents. |
I think the media should stop drooling all over the shootings, because it drives attention-hungry loners to mimic them. As far as what schools should do, I think it would be practical to have a class (maybe extra curicular, maybe mandatory) that teaches about different cultures and religions, so maybe we won't have these Gothic rejects sitting in a corner who just hate everyone...

We have one crazy Gothic at our school that wants to kill everyone, he sits by himself drawing pictures of dead people and has no friends |
I think there is no relation between violence in games and violence by people
--------- bryan986 |
Except for the fact that both influence eachother.
|
Pst hey you. Yeah, you! Come here. Wanna see something VERY funny?
**edited for content** lol! |

Oh and BTW, try checking http://www.graal.com especially what it says at the bottom of the page ;) |
"so-called Graal game"
that is a put down |
So because someone plays Doom, they learn how to make bombs and get illegal weapons.
|
I'm a big Doom player, hell I played Doom 2 with Twilight Warrior Total Conversion
with the Game a couple days ago, we raided a ship on the sea and I didn't feel like going out to shoot someone in real life, and I'm sure if I had a gun I wouldn't know how to use it. Doom is just like point and click... just try not to get clicked ;) |
"Rediculous Lucky Captain Rabbit King" was on Powerpuff Girls.

Yeah. I figure this whole columbine thing isn't so much the media as the fact it's no longer acceptable to blow off steam. School administrations all over have adopted this attitude "if you have a problem with something, tell me about it"...but A) that's never worked, nobody wants to be the chicken-excrement tattletale that couldn't handle it themself, and B) the adminstration frequently is too "busy" to solve such problems. Simple example, one of those columbine guys, call him Ted, I don't actually remember any details... Ted goes to school with some big stupid report he spent all night on. He takes a break for lunch, and one of the jocks steals it, Steve or something. He goes to the nearest teacher and says Steve stole my homework. The teacher, who is essentially powerless anyway, goes up to Steve and says "Did you take his homework", and Steve says "No", and that's all the justice you get Ted, sorry. But, and this is the thing that's changed, back in the day (50s maybe?) Ted would jump Steve after school and beat the everliving tar out of him. Or Ted and his friends would, anyway, they'd get revenge and THEN it'd be over. Nowadays, that's gang activity. Assault and battery. Can't DO that. So what you get is Ted has to spend 10 years of this mock-justice of the "good" kids getting away with anything they like as long as they're not caught, with no alternatives. Ted just ends up bottling up the rage and humilitation for years until it all goes off, not in a blind-rage bum-rushing the jock for stealing his homework in the first place, but taking an automatic weapon to school and killing everyone who laughed at him. Personally, I'd rather Ted just kicks Steve's ass and they both get suspended...but that looks bad on the school record if there's a fight, so the principals of the world are against it. They don't actually take away the impetus for Columbine incidents, they just take away the outlets. It's like stopping a train from smoking by sealing up the smokestacks: doesn't actually work, it just explodes. |
I read somewhere, that the US attorney general said that only small percentage of children are even affected by violence in games.....mostly because of their perception of reality......i could be wrong on that though......
|
Blah, I've played violent videogames a L O N G time, and I've never had the urge to go out and shoot somebody..
|
This makes think, but im not good at it
|
Oh, please.
Shootings happened a long time ago in the western days. What did they blame then? Bleh. I'm sick of peoples using media as their scapegoat. |
