Baking pies or snowcone making?
 

I did some calculating to see what the time loss to gralat loss was when comparing apple snowcone making to apple pie making.. here is what I came up with, although numbers might be slightly different for others:

It takes roughly 8 minutes to milk 3 cows (if you do them all at once) and to unstick yourself, and go to snowcone place, and then make the apple snowcones.. it takes 6 minutes to milk the 3 cows.

It takes roughly 2 minutes to bake an apple pie from start to finish. If you were to bake pies for 8 minutes, you would be able to bake around 4 pies.

Now that we have those numbers, lets get to the interesting part.

-The profit made from the 8 minutes of milking and snowcone making is 21g
-The profit made from the 8 minutes of baking 4 pies is 32g
-The apples used in making snowcones added up to be 6 apples
-The apples used in making 4 pies added up to be 16 apples

In total, it required 6 apples to make 21g in 8 minutes for snowcone making, and 16 apples to make 32g in 8 minutes of pie baking.

Apple Snowcone making: 6 apples, 21g
Apple Pie baking: 16 apples 32g

Now all you have to do is ask yourself, is the extra 11g worth 10 of your apples? 10 apples that if used to make snowcones, would make you 35g? :D

Of course you still might prefer the pie baking, and say that the time spent making the snowcones could be spent farming more apples.. but if you buy apples in bulk from someone for a lower price (since most people sell apples for 1.5g) you don't even have to farm. :)

I'm just making this poll to get everyones feedback.. if you don't do either job, don't complain because I didn't add your job.. this is for these jobs only.

2 apples from snowcones= 7G
4 apples from pies= 8G
1G for 2 apples difference....
4 apples from snowcones= 14G
That's why I like the new snowcone making job ALOT better, more money but it takes a little bit of time =/ Although it is WELL worth it ^_^

but before you can mil another cow you have to wait 1 min and if you do milk 3 cows only 2 people can do it at once, so it takes longer than 6 mins to get 3 bottles of milk

apple pie baking is better. More money and you don't have to go walking around like a maniac. -.- Besides, milking three cows at once is impractical.

Alas, there is a quicker way from the farm to the coneatorium (never forget Hoshira's Farm either...you could milk on the way up to Mt. Antora from farming).

Jump in water, swim up to Silverstun's, get out at dock, catch rail line at the northern playerhouse complex or the Baddies castle. Take rail to Antora, walk and/or ski down. In the end faster than coming up all the way from Bomboria.

Also remember, you must go to Harmonia to bake pies.

Furthermore milking is not a constant D job like pie, and thus it is less of a strain. I don't think ANY of you want to hear the actual truth about the easiest way to make money in Graal, so I'm providing Spoiler Space

Regular snow cones are the single best job, save perhaps mining. You can get farm eqpt easily, complete sets are never more than 40G, and you need those for apples anyway. Secondhand farming equipment and a bottle or two are in fact cheaper than mining.

Once you're on the job, milking is a relaxing thing to do, even whilst you read a book. Watering the ice is no pain at all, in fact it exists only for realism (in that the snowcone lady is too busy running her twenty-four-hour operation to step out for ice).

As for time involved, with regular snow cones you needn't farm (at Hoshira's, about fifty minutes for somewhere between 24 and an effective maximum of 48 to 60, and VERY hard to get so much as an apple a minute without a lot of strain.). If it takes 8 minutes to make 3 snow cones, that's about 15G in the time it takes you to farm.

Yeah Jeff is Right I hate farming but its a great money maker and farming less apples for more profit? Sounds good to me!

I personally hate farming. If I was RPing, it would take 2 graalian days to farm a tree. I hate it because I get annoying PMs and IMs. Then I have to work very hard with a slow modem...and yea...I normally bread bake or normal snow cone make.

I was agains snowcones at first, but I like them better now. I could care less about the profits made, it's more enjoyable

milking 3 cows at once is easy stuff.
riding tracks around everywhere is easy stuff.
getting to see everything instead of staying in one place is a huge win for me. + i alway stop by the market after making snowcones, then hop back onto the tracks and milk more

gralats are stupid, the fact that people sit down and calaculate this stuff just blows my mind :)
