Problem
 
Cloud X told me to post this...

from Cloud "TI installed XP but setup is missing a file so it just goes when rebooted right back to setup. Just keeps not finding it on the CD. I dont know how to stop it from doing that and let me back on please she;l=] if you find out e-mail me at [email protected] if you can help"

Hmm... Try putting in another bootable CD-ROM

heh.. im the one he got it off.. he probaly didnt copy something completly or he used the CD when it had errors.. i told him not to :-( i will just have to find the file for him or he needs to reinstall his old OS and remake the cd.. i will just email him..

thers dos with all windows OS.. I will help him get it fixed after he emails me.. if i cant i know people who know everything about this and XP..

Bleh, no, just a in-windows emulator, there is no true DOS in new computers anymore.

That's what I thought. And an in-Windows emulator is useless if you can't actually get into Windows.

but i dont think he did a fresh install and deleted/reformatted his HDD.. he probbaly tryed to upgrade.. so he most likely has dos.. like i said i emailed him so i can get more info then i will help him fix it.. he just kept gettin off so quick i didnt have time to tell him things before he did it.. he was also makin the CD and i know 2 of them had errors.. so he could have used one of the CDs with an error..

I haven't much studied the specifics of this, but I would think that installing XP would alter the way the computer boots, thus bypassing the mere possibility of entering DOS. Don't quote me, though.
