Easy Start - New Beginner Tutorial
http://i.imgur.com/DaciHyG.png
Since releasing Graal Kingdoms as a completely free game only a matter of months ago we have heard several complaints about our start quest - Too Confusing! Too Hard! In order to rectify this befuddling situation we are proud to announce the new Beginner Tutorial! This is VERY easy to use! There is a list of tasks to accomplish in the corner of your screen - each task is clearly guided by an arrow leading the way as well as clear instructional information at the bottom of your screen! Last but not least... we're also giving away 5NC to every new player who completes the beginner quest! Let the games begin! |
Great addition! Is there a reason I see the tutorial on my account?

OK thx nico.
I found a serious bug in the system that i will not post on here for abuse reasons. I will pm you that one. I have some bugs/suggestions I have found in the tutorial. Task 3 - Should explain how to find sea side farm by holding M and opening map. Task 5 - James never told me the secret to mine faster. It seems to skip that part Task 8 - the guy at the lumbermill should also explain you can just grab the belt to add a log. He should say Log and not big board... When I talked to the son it never said anything about bringing the boat into the water. It just created the boat and destroyed it. It should have you put the 5 boards onto the ship builder then destroy the boat. |

Just wanted to point this out...
In case you accidentally skipped the tutorial not knowing there's a reward, you can still complete it by doing all the tasks required. One reward not mentioned in this thread is the Graal of the Starting Quest, which some players might not have gotten yet. It's the only obtainable Graal in the game so far. :p No idea if it can be dropped, though, because I haven't tried and don't want to risk losing it if the item vanishes. Apparently it's worth about 1,000 platinum, though. |

By the way is there any chances to make the quests for GK's like collecting doohickey doors and doohickeys, just like that what i mean is to help new players making the quests too, and make a tracking system just like the arrow that shows you where to go at the begginer's guide quest.

I still feel that its lacking to an extent.
Ponder this for a moment. You're back in the 90's (because thats where my refrences will start tho you can look back further too). You just got a brand new Nintendo 64. You're excited to play it so you pop in Mario 64. The game loads and you go thru some menus. Before the game start's your introduces to the idea that peach is kidnapped. So upon playing you know your purpose in the game. Think of it as guidence thats not in your face anoying every 5 seconds (similar to what dusty was complaining about when Classic was like please take the pot to the graveyard)... but moving along. So you play for hours and beat the game you feel a sense of pride and accomplishment so you load in another classic, Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The game loads up and your in a forest, tho little is explained to the player you realize your suppose to meet with the deku tree. You arrive and a story is told. Now you feel some sort of direction, something that motivates you to aspire to become a greater player, to succeed if you will. Now lets get into the late 90's (1998), Graalonline comes along (or maybe still called Zelda Online?) Regardless, you load the game up and some levels appear and people around. Your first instinct is to ask for help, or what there is to do/offer. It often leads to confusion. Now see, the top 2 servers.. Era and Zodiac are a littler differet. I can't really speak for Zodiac as im not really a player of the server but when Era first came out it was pretty obvious what you are to do.. Run and Gun !!! So no real explination is needed. During the conception of the idea for the server the primary focus was a server built around high activity (i believe the graal bible says)... Now logging onto gk, you kinda get an idea of how to control the game, but have no idea what your supposed to do, nor where to go.. Sorry if this post was long but is there any chance that any more thought could be put into actually explaining to, or showing, the player a general direction of what to do? It's commonly over looked critical aspect of the game. Here for those of you who do not know the story behind GK PHP Code:
Conclusion: Players need to know why to play your product, not just how to play it.. =/ |

Besides it's not even so much of a suggestion as it is a question to a defunct aspect of the game. Yes defunct is the correct word since back in the day when we had a strong player count, we had a storyline. And defunct means "no longer existing or functioning.". You woke up at a ship wreck.. seems ever since that got removed too (ps. this was removed after p2p was introduced) the player count has dropped from around 80-120+ average to 15-30.. if you dont believe me go around as an undercover noob and talk to the other noobs.. youl'l see what i mean o_o EDIT: Maybe this is not a bug but really.. my pray hotkey is "p" guess what happens if I press p with this menu up? yeah no longer blessing what ever i was blessing and now across the entire map.. GG WP (good game, well played) |
I ran through the tutorial to see how it is, and I kept getting a "failed" when I should be warping to the 7th task. Also, the monster on the tutorial island make it really tough to dig for tree seeds or corn and have a shell bomy attacking you while dodging to plant them or something.
Understandable though, because it teaches players about monsters, but it seems over kill when you have grim reapers next to the first task. |
