Offline Editor not loading

Okay, so I went to use my offline editor today, and it doesn't load up. Nothing, it just sits as a process on Task Manager, and never loads up. I tried deleting FILENAMECACHE, didn't work. Reinstalled Graal, didn't work. Tried that Offline Editor fix floating around the forums, didn't work.

Any ideas? Running Windows 7 64-bit, 6GB RAM, AMD Athlon II DualCore, Radeon HD 6450 Graphics

Try disabling your Antivirus.

Why not use gonstruct?

Stowen 10-05-2013 01:00 AM

I would totally use Gonstruct if images loaded in it. I'm using it right now, and I can't stand the images not loading.

My anti-virus is disabled, and the .exe is listed in the list of programs to exclude from scans.

I have no problems with images in gonstruct, but I'm using the linux version. (if that even makes any difference)

The only time images doesn't load in Gonstruct is when you misconfigured it and didn't set it's Graal path to your actual Graal path. To fix that, delete your %AppData%\gonstruct\ folder, run the program and you should get the prompt again.

On a related note, where do the images have to be located in order for them to load in gonstruct?

Anywhere in your configured Graal folder, ideally your actual Graal folder.

Hm, right, I guess my problem was not having them listed in filenamecache.txt, so I just manually added them and it worked.

To the OP: Try that, and see if the images work in gonstruct.

It has its issues, but it's a better editor IMO. Now if only someone would work on it again...

By default, Gonstruct doesn't even use FILENAMESCACHE.txt but instead scans the subfolders itself. When you first setup Gonstruct (or deletes it %APPDATA%/gonstruct/ configuration) you can however choose to use the cache, but there's no advantage too it.

Odd, because the file did not load until I typed in the location and image name into filenamecache.txt , I did not change the image location, but could not get the image to show.

Gos_pira 10-06-2013 11:19 AM

In the linux version there's a button to get back to that configuration whenever (I guess it's just a newer version) and the FILENAMECACHE.txt always fail to load for me, but all the images always load for me as long as the proper graal directory is chosen.
