Era Mall

I'd like to present my latest feature that I'm introducing into Era Mall.

I'm still currently working on this at moment, but I'd like to give you a little preview of what this update accomplishes. As some of you have already noticed, there is a new button in the mall, here you'll be able to make an offer on whichever item you wish. In this menu as I've previewed above, you'll be able to select and add items to an offer. Once you've completed your offer, you simply confirm the offer. After we're done; we must wait. We're waiting for the owner to log in, once the owner logs in and checks his/her mall stand, they'll notice a glowing beacon around an item they have listed for sale (there can be more than one offer at a time). They will be able to choose the best offer; note that cash will always be default and all offers will be returned once cash has been paid.

Hopefully this helps out with trading on Era, as the current system is pretty horrid. If anyone has any suggestions or questions, now's the time to do so.

I'm glad to see you're still updating the mall.

what i said wasn't meant as an insult but more or less fact.

Fiberwyre_P2P 06-05-2013 05:45 PM

It would still be better if you could buy from the /mall GUI :P

I know it would, but that ruins the fun of it being a mall. Uh, I have been considering a warp feature in '/mall' so any player can warpto a stand their interested in.

You can easily see who is selling which item via /mall then look for the name and walk to their room?... That seems sort of silly to add a warp for it.

Tim_Rocks 06-05-2013 07:14 PM

It would only work in the mall, I did say 'considering'.. That way you don't have to run around looking for the mall stand or the account name on the door.

BlueMelon 06-05-2013 08:47 PM

That's part of the 'fun' though I thought D:

It's kind of evolved into an auction house (with your addition of the bidding sort of thing) so why not just make it through the /mall menu? You still have to go there to set it up and stuff but when you're .05 move speed trying to get a lightweight :cool::cool:
i think you get it.

Fulg0reSama 06-05-2013 09:16 PM

I think this question has not been asked...

Will this mall have a food court?

Just chatted with Tim about this after helping him test and it was amazing. The feature runs seamlessly and is well done so far. He's also adding a messaging option for both offering and declining such as "I can mix and match this offer with these items" or "Your offer wasn't good enough because..."

Tim_Rocks 06-09-2013 10:51 PM

Here's an update of what I've gotten done today. This is how your offers will appear on screen when you check on your items from the mall (gold boxes = offers). You'll also get a notification displayed on screen when an offer is made online or offline (next login).

If you see a box that appears gold, simply click it and you'll be able to view all available offers.

There's still plenty left to do though.
  • Accepting an offer (owner)
  • Cancel an offer (player)
  • Returning players their items back (Owner removes item; cancels, etc)

Fulg0reSama 06-10-2013 09:15 AM

I didn't know Era had the same company making bottles for it as they did in LoZ:aLttP lol.

Thank you guys for your patience, one last preview before the release, I'm going over bug testing and making sure everything is working properly. (Also works as simple tutorial below!)

The first thing you'll notice is the make an offer button, go ahead and click Make an offer.

You should see a new window appear, some of you might of seen this as I've been testing, but it's very easy to use. Go ahead and click on the gray box to add an item as an offer.

This is the same window you would use to sell items in the past, only this time, I've added a filter box (about a month ago) and you can offer cash as well along with items.

Here's what the window will look like after you've added an offer, you can right click a box to clear the offer and you can also click the + to add another offer box (1.)!

And once you've completed your offer, you will be sent a PM from the NPC Server giving details about your offer (2.)!

This is what all mall stand owners will see if there's an offer that's available. In the Mall computer, go ahead an click on a blue box to check on an offer.

This is what offers will look like, I've drawn arrows as well, decline simply declines an offer and returns the items to the owner. If you accept, you will receive the items on the right and offerer will get the item he/she offered on.

And lastly, if you choose to accept an offer, you will be sent a receipt (both parties) in the mail box about the transaction.

Note: I do plan on adding decline reasons (Hey, could you add more, etc).

You need a certain number of posts I believe and you also need pos rep before you can start to rep people.
