Sorry to hear that Thor. I didn't know you very well, but I remember we had a few brief chats when I logged on Era about Obv Mode and such and I completely agree with you.


P2P killed Graal.. period. I know they had to make money, but if you're going to charge this much my suggestion is to lower periodical subscription prices (like monthly, yearly, whatever) and make a high priced option for lifetime classic.

That being said, the general consensus is that nobody cares about PC Graal anymore. Which is stupid, because this is what made Graal what it is today, show some damn gratitude.

I couldn't agree more, I would love to see lifetime options to come back and I know that would boost the player count of MANY servers.

I have to agree, graal doesn't have much hope its a shame. Your server was indeed awsome, yes YOUR SERVER.

why u say that unximad says there mistake is to allow lifetime accounts that its not right that we pay 1 time and get all these versions of graal for free blah blah blah

What Unixmad failed to factor into his calculation was that if it wasn't for lifetime subscription the majority of players would never have subscribed in the first place, Graal probably would have went out of existence without it.

This guy's signature sums it up quite nicely.

well if it wasn't for lifetime Graal would prob be dead or only like 100 people total. But i think if they made lifetime accounts once again u would think he would realize more developers could come and more people try to make there own server like it use too. But idk 100 bucks for a year is crazy when Torque is the same price and other good engines are cheaper or little bit more and its for lifetime

i bought Torque 3d a while ago for 100 dollars and u get 3k players server host space and torque u buy it once and u get all the updates in the future for that engine

Spending the past 3 or so years developing a server that failed to have any kind of lasting playercount or playability when it finally released was definitely a loss for him, getting banned was just the forced exit he was looking for.

Sounds to me like he lost something. The ability to work on, as you guys put it, "his server" that cyberjoueurs technically owns all rights to upon uploading. To me, if I spent 3 years working on something I wouldn't have sabotaged it like Thor.

But that has nothing to do with losing forum rights. He had already said that he's not working on Classic anymore long before that.

I know it must be difficult for those with Stockholm Syndrome, but I'd like to point out the entire staff team had agreed that we'd tried our best in what was ultimately a toxic environment with no room for growth, I have no regrets.

On a related note, some of the things I learned within the time spent working on Classic ended up contributing to a new career opportunity, every cloud.

I may not know why he lost forum rights. I thought when you got blocked from 1 you got blocked from the other? Either way, what I ment was the way he was acting, his attitude towards the game, owners, and creators both on forums, and in game with shenanigans. But I don't know the reason he was blocked so can't say for sure but it was easily predictable none the less.

Toxic environment how? Because you guys were the only one not getting OBS removed or made free to play? o.O Stefan offered to remove it, then Thor flipped out bigtime ranting about the "new map area restrictions" that we a) havent seen yet, and b) no proof there will be such implimentation. The whole OBS argument reminds me of this who sequester thing going on in america.. neither side wants to meet in the middle they want it there way or no way. and well, thor got what he wanted.. no way.

Just figured I'd mention that UN was willing to meet in the middle, or further than the middle, or really all the way to other side for about as long as I worked there to get Observer Mode removed. I'm pretty sure they still feel the same way now. Hasn't really helped any though.

As current manager of classic I'd like to say we're working on meeting in the middle to get observer mode removed in the least intrusive way to gameplay!

Simple answer, I became manager the thread that Thor got ExoGlobal banned for in the Classic news section.

In his post he laid out a mark 3 plan for the future of classic which he had extrapolated to the 3rd degree(6 months). He had storyline plans, staffing changes, and community logarithms worked out. It is a shame they removed the post because they disagreed with his vision but alas... that is where I became manager.
