So lately I have been having a lot of trouble finding mp3 files that will play on my server. [ Using playlooped() ]

what is the biggest file size a mp3 to be uploaded and played?

There's a limit on the maximum file size for files you're hosting on your Graal server. The idea is that they don't want you uploading copyrighted music. If you can show them that you're creating it yourself somehow, they'll raise the limit (and have in the past, even for UC servers iirc).

Alternatively, throw them on a server somewhere (or maybe on S3) and just play them from a URL. This is a supported way of playing music, but afaik it means MP3 files won't cache clientside.

edit: max file size was 1 MB as of Jan 2007 per Stefan, but I think it's been raised since then.

We had it streaming from a URL before but it was buggy and required the player to log in a couple times before it would download all the way.

I had emailed Tig about upping the limit, but he never responded.

Stefan is probably the only one who will be able to increase the limit.

In all the years I've been on the forums, I can only remember one time when Stefan has increased the download limit for someone that requested it publically, and that was for Maloria - and only after Oinkness recorded himself making his songs.

As far as I know, it was not. I've received a raise to 5 MB on Atlantis as well, just had to ask. Or maybe it was 3 MB, can't really remember.
