Balor and Brigid fixes.
Brigid is most likely the most unpopular god, next to Balor. Brigid disallows the use of weapons now has less of an advantage over her enemy god Bile, due to the holy-word and fire resistance buff they received.
Balor is just plain awful, with his flaming aura that does nothing, -2 luck, -1 magic regen, and an attacktype that does nothing. To perhaps make these two gods more viable than they were before, and widen the Role-play a bit more, I think a few fixes and buffs are called for. I suggest for Brigid: -Fixing her form of Resurrection. -Having Spiderweb's spiders inflict poison -Giving gloves of the sun Slay: Undead? -Giving her a new spell that allows for an easier time leveling wisdom. -- Earthquake: Behaves like the spell Destruction, but damages for a few ticks after completing the cast-time. Spelltype: Summoning, Detonation, Armour damage. -- Volcano: Behaves like a cone spell, leaving a trail of damaging lava; much like spiderweb. Spelltype: Summoning, Fire damage. -- Nature's Fury: Causes roots to shoot out in rapid succession toward the target, behaves like a homing-thornwall. Spelltype: Summoning, Armour Damage, Magic Damage. I suggest for Balor: -Removing hit-stun from flaming aura, but increasing damage to the smallest degree. -Fixing fear so it does something. (If it has not been planned to be fixed at all, I suggest that it: causes monsters to become passive and run away from your character. For Humans, causes a 35% WC/AC decrease, greater probability of fumbling spells, and a lesser probability of dealing over 75% of your maximum damage.) -Making flaming aura cause the Fear condition. -Fixing vitriol. It was the only acid-type attack in the game, why not bring it back? -If rage does not work, fix it as well. |

You Brigid suggestions:
- Brigid should definitely be more support orientated than the other god choices, making resurrection or healing for Brigid players easier and more unique should definitely be explored. -I'm not confident that with poison at it's current level that this would be a favourable thing. Spiderweb's are there to slow down the opponent and gain distance so that a spell can be cast, perhaps extending the period and/or span that the webs reach would better achieve this goal rather than add a ranged poison than has such a wide range. -That is just overpowered. Gloves of the sun are already a great item and need no change, and certainly not a change that gives Brigid more Slay: Undead, as if Brigid's holy spells were not already the bane of all Undead players/monsters. -An easier time levelling wisdom? So the free-farm at Vanirs Hollow and Crypt is not enough? If Brigid's support role, or the generic support role were expanded more levelling through parties should be the better option for Brigid players unless they are met with undead monsters with which they can simply 1-shot most of the time. -Balor fixes are obvious, no one can disagree. Before adding new spells to one of the more fortunate god's, existing spells should be looked at. But I'd very much like brigid to receive buff spells, like one that adds (Weapon Magic) to the caster, allowing Brigid to level phys easier through fists and ac, in pvp combat this would also prove useful. |
I agree the Slay: Undead thing is rather silly, but don't you want to see kung-fu brigid worshipers smashing zombie skulls in?
Yeah nevermind that. However, yes, a way to increase their ability to use their bodies to annihilate their enemies the "Natural" way seems like a good idea. But, I suppose Brigid can't be the Goddess of Healing and the "Goddess of making you summon more stuff from mother nature to kill stuff for you in the name of mother nature"? AKA Conjuring Volcanoes? |

Yea, god of healing and nature, pretty much support. 'Eruption' would better suit Balor anyway. Some earth-element orientated support (like snare's) would be cool though. If we aren't going to specialise through classes, gods should become more unique and effects/resistances balanced so that the gods differentiate play but don't neccessarily = fate. E.g. Govannon loses to Ogma/Bile all the time because of op poison. |
