The owner was chosen by the administration team, we do have plans for it which will hopefully be introduced in the upcoming weeks. You'll find out more information regarding that soon.

So basically let me get this straight... You give PPA to a random player, when the idea of what you're trying to do with it is incomplete... Sounds like the gang system and look how that went. Stop releasing half-assed incomplete stuff and focus on things that need to be done like the gang system.

You could have also introduced a business to compete against PPA because PPA always fails without another PKing business to compete with it. PPA is just gonna sit and do the exact same thing it has done since long before the reset, it's gonna suck.

No, not at all. The player wasn't selected at random, he was chosen for a reason by the administration team. The plan/idea has already been decided on. What I said was we were going to release the actual idea in the upcoming weeks.

As I said in my original post, we are still releasing everything related to PPA in the upcoming weeks. We released it earlier to get the business settled before the new updates.

So why does this update take priority over the gang system that's been incomplete for months? That doesn't make much sense honestly.

WillaWonka 12-13-2011 01:20 AM

What were the "specifications" to be randomly selected to own PPA?

Who's saying it does? Just because something else gets released doesn't mean the gang system isn't being worked on. There have already been multiple threads concerning this, it's getting quite annoying.

The administration team came to an agreement with the owner based on his experience and history, among other things.

Maybe because gang activity is absolutely dead and the gang system was released almost 6 months ago..... It should have been taken care of and finished months ago.

Multiple Bans, USDing, multiple previous business failures, constant inactivity, and severe lack of PK ability = Savior Formula of a PK Business that continuously operates sub-par?

Wait, what?
I, being supremely crafty with words, can't even fable some random **** to cover that up.

No seriously, are you serious? You're honestly doing this **** over the gang system? I severely despise TK, but even his dumb*** can see how blatantly obvious this is. Come the **** on Era. We're not THAT dumb.

We've seen your words Alfonso, that doesn't mean ****. You type Gang System, then you go and make (not even.. just change owner names) GRC/PPA.

This is just making me loco, Jesus... the stupidity.

Pretty much nailed it on the head.... I'm glad someone sees for the most part the EXACT same thing I'm seeing.

Sinkler 12-13-2011 05:17 AM

Just because Alfonso wants to add someone to a business does not mean he takes them as top priority. I know that Alfonso is working on numerous projects, not just PPA and GRC, and I think it'd not only be ignorant to say that he is only focusing on businesses, but idiotic.

Smog is obviously a controversial character, however, this does not necessarily mean he is a bad candidate. Wil Soul was a huge trouble maker when he was picked for Bounty Hunter, should we assume the administration then was bad in doing so? The administration knows Smog well enough to give him a chance and I don't think it's really anyone's place to question their judgement until it is seen that Smog cannot perform well.

I don't care if Smog owns a business, but just to give him it out of the blue with his business history (and the PPA history) is frankly as idiotic as your rhetoric on how idiotic our assumptions are.

Every player should be chanced with the opportunity, I can't even bid on auctions but that would be the fairest option (as being discussed in multiple other threads). Hell, you could even raffle it off. But this magic 'joint administration decision' for a monopolized business ownership (that is apparently being reworked and updated/improved) is really cutting it close don't you think?

My own category? How thoughtful.

And this guy totally gets it, second chances all round. Hell, he's living proof; flop as ETA and get throw to a separate administration position with ~0 responsibility and +1 staff level.

Let's rep it 'mang.

I am simply asserting that Wil Soul's history is equally problematic. We cannot adequately determine the competency of Smog until we see what he does over the next few weeks. It is unfair for anyone to instantly assume he will be horrible due to his past.

A joint administrative decision is not cutting close to corruption or favoritism. I know under my leadership on Zodiac and currently on UN that joint decisions are the best decisions as it allows for free and open discussion. I believe the Era Administration carefully chose Smog as the leader of PPA, and I don't think Alfonso is dumb enough to pick someone out of the blue who he thinks will run PPA into the ground (again).

I am not using rhetoric, I am using logical arguments to explain the situation. Ocelot, you don't read anything I write, and so therefore you simply state that I don't say anything.

Quick, before they close this thread too!

No one is infringing on Alfonso's right to take any action he sees fit. However, as Manager of a server, understand that every action you take is going to be questioned and scrutinized. Henceforth, make sure you have a DAMN-good reason for every action you take. No one buys that "private decision" crap... quit it... it's lame.

Furthermore, comparing Smog to Wil is like a comparison between your voice and the voice of someone who's underwent puberty - none.
Two separate individuals, two separate backgrounds;
USDing compared to making administrators look as useless as they are - no comparison.

Quite frankly, given his history and your reasoning, it wouldn't be surprisingly if USD accusations arose. I already can't help but think a major part of the reason he got it was because he agreed to hire you, Senior useless in everything PK and business.

And woah, sound reasoning?
Sound reasoning would list the credentials which Smog possesses that warranted his selection so future players could have something to stride for.
What does Smog have? As far as history shows, a healthy enough pay pal to buy what he wants.

There is no logic in your argument.
Nor are you explaining anything, you're reiterating the initial point... thus is pointless.

For example, you compare Smog to Wil Soul in saying that they're equally problematic,
Yet, Smog is rewarded a business, while Wil Soul is banned for his "problematic-nature". <_ That alone deprives all logic from your statement.

Using my logical argument scanners, I've detected some logical holes in your logical argument which I will now explain using my logic.

First off, let us clear the air and (using our powerful technologically advanced mental capacities) clearly state Era != Zodiac != UN, therefore I honestly don't care.

OK!

So, a comparison between the greatest PKer on the game running a competitive business formed of his back-hugging Soul posse; with an inactive pothead that hasn't pked in 3 years controlling a improved monopolized business is totally applicable to the situation.

Now, I'm going to give you a ball. You will drop this ball three times. The fourth time I give you the ball, I expect you not to drop it.

Everyone following?

Now, I'm going to state the following:
You managed to type three full paragraphs without actually saying a single thing.

Don't instantly assume ****, cause I just read what you said.

DarkRenji 12-13-2011 06:21 AM

I honestly don't understand it because, not even a month ago he got caught abusing a "staff tool" alf had given him to "test" weapons..

The staff tool he was testing involved being able to set the values of weapons or such, he abused it and ran around with a MP5 that would kill people in 1 shot.

After reporting this for about 2 hours, and smog ruining the 1 raid we get going a week, it was finally taken from him, yet he was not banned for it and when I asked alf he said it was his fault for trusting the guy, seems like he has someone gained his trust back though..

Also this probably isn't the thread for this, but why is GRC given to a player? It's been a good NPC-ran job for quite some time now, will all the others be given to players as well?

Nothing in his response even hinted at the guidelines for an ad hominem.
You've been warned several times, do not use words or concepts without fully understanding their meaning. You make yourself look foolish.

If my initial statement is false, point out the incidences in his response that reach an ad hominem.

Secondly, what is your argument?
The comparison? It has been rendered null void.
The behaviors of different administrations? They are irrelevant due to the fact that it does not address the question in any which way. "It was done because thats how they do." <- That is redudant.

You've dropped the ball again, we'll give it to you once more; go.

That is not, that is making a very real comparison. In the end of that comparison, I detracted the point for you, that there is NO comparison. Those are two entities you cannot compare, and if you attempt to compare them, such as you did, you breach a cornucopia of fallacies.

Ex. Wil is a problematic, Smog is problematic, but Smog is rewarded and Wil is punished. <- That is illogical.
Henceforth, the scenario cannot be employed in a logical form. Get me?

I was making the argument that Wil is problematic, yet received BH and Smog is equally problematic and received PPA. I see a comparison there.

@Ocelot: Yeah, I don't think they like me very much =[, whatever will I do.

@whathisface:
Uh, The argument is still then incomplete.
When Wil received the business, his problematic nature was yet to be conceived.
However, it seems Smog is well underway.
Secondly, Wil did not receive the business in the same manner, henceforth when comparing the receptions, it is not equal.

The administration "secretly" granted it to him? Naaaaaaaaa.

in other words smog is paying alfs salary ;). Viva La Paypal?

edit: i also remember not that long ago me and lep having to deal with smog running around with that grenade launcher thing that shoots flash grenades blinds you and does 25 damage and i seem to remember no one doing a damn thing about it when bringing it up to staff. there should be no degree of favoritism that leads to one player being allowed to abuse whatever he wants when hes not even staff. but dont worry im sure he will buy his way into that with no prior knowledge at some point too.

Careful now, you're reaching dangerous grounds...
I mean, if you look at it all in oversight, most of the staff members got their position pretty randomly too, didn't they?
I mean, Naack... out of nowhere PSA when there were PRs long in the position before him and probably served it far better.
Furthermore, he received a higher position than his superior (Nich)?

Huh??? How does that work?

Before that, remember th e random guy (forget his name, something weird), but he was granted GBA out of nowhere, and when someone asked about it, the response was pretty similar to this one.

Secondly, he immediately made Zao Asst Admin (note: no prior GBA was allowed this), not just that... Zao was granted RC - with rights - immediately after, and like two weeks later, Zao was GBA.
-_- That's not suspicious or anything, right?

I mean, go down the line and you'll find similar "random selection" stories. I'm not making any accusations here man, I'm just saying -_-.
Just how Administrators just "do" what they do because they do what they do. We just say what we say because we say what we say, right Gabriel?
