TestBed - RC Gui
 

Perhaps it would be much easier if players could apply for RC access via a GUI. It would be much easier for the players wanting access then and would be faster and easier to collect the applications and apply them to RC. Obviously, they would still have to be manually added, but it would make it much easier for the players. I would like to see this, but it is just an idea.

That was in the past too, sort of application you could apply and then you will get RC if you get approved.

As PowerProNL stated, I had made one in the past which was used for some time, but, if I recall correctly, it was disabled as some players were using it to gain access who weren't interested in scripting. You'd have to ask Tig about the reason, though, as I'm not positive.

I don't see why you would need RC access though Emera:)

I would like to try something like this again though, as people seem to expect people to be online 24/7, people who can grant RC access. I've stated in another thread that if you want RC access, contact someone who can with a forum PM, an IM on AIM/MSN etc.

Some problems we've had on Testbed though, a lot in the last month atleast, is people with no interest in scripting and abuse.

I've not been active on Testbed due to personal reasons, but here's a fact though, I've not received one PM about Testbed in over a month.

It isn't about if I need RC access or not. I am saying it would be easier for players to apply for RC through a GUI.

The problems we had was people writing in the application "i want to learn how to script" etc etc etc

They get access and they end up abusing, running around with boots, creating their personal levels, idle and not really do anything constructive in terms of improving their own scripting abilities.

Sure there might be someone who is actually eager to take some time to learn, but then I don't see why they couldn't use some time to contact someone like Tig or me by email, a forum PM or with an IM

I think its pretty easy now i came back pm Chompy i think on the fourms in 48 hours i had access

The PM sent by the NPC-server when you logon (only sent if you're not already staff) needs to be changed. It's got a lot of people listed as "able to give RC" who can't give RC. I've had three or four people come to me in the past few months to try to figure out how to get access.

that pm thing always pm me no matter what
