Make jeweler useful.
The skill jeweler is useless as of now.(again, correct me if i'm wrong.) when you find jewels you should have to use the skill jeweler to get any money out of them. Like you have to do with smithy with armor and weps. Also you could make the pearls and stuff worth maybe a little more money... not much maybe double what they are now? you could also make the skill scroll spawn a little bit more than it does. just a suggestion =)

Technically Jeweler is supposed to Identify rings and amulets, but no monsters drop any such items.
|
could make it useful though lol
|
Should make unidentified rings and amulets among the identified rings in shops that you have to identify. More expensive accessories will require a higher level to identify but might have a better chance to be useful.
It wouldn't be a huge change but it's something. What's thaumaturgy (sp), by the way? |
I have a distinct memory of having used Jeweler to identify an amulet at some point.
|
Use the pearls to make pearl necklaces, and you could make more money with the pearls that way!
|
Thaumaturgy is for identifying rods and wands.

I'd love to see all rings / amulets / wands in shops be unidentified, but have different spawn rates and prices.
rings - row's/RoE's would spawn more commonly, RoS's/etc are fine since they are still traded commonly. The fact you'd not know what you're buying would add a risk factor to buying rings, the exp from shopping would be cool though (using the jewler skill) amulet's - such as Talisman of Frost/Fire/Unified Mind/Missiles, Speed Amulet could spawn very rarely, but it would make a new class of amulet spawning again. It's kind of upsetting that theres literally no point in amulet shopping, I'd LOVE to see some cool amulets for sale, even give them stats. If you got a str+1 amulet that'd be really cool for a new player, or even some builds for a low budget elite character. Wand's should have WAY higher level rods spawn. Spells on wands only go up to level 3. That's fine for spells, and increasing the level on wands would only make the spells a tiny bit better seeing magic level doesn't scale damage. but at the same time, the wisdom spell rods like Sunspear would be heavily enhanced by 25 levels, "Heavy Rod of Sunspear (lvl 23)" would be a very rare expensive rod. I'd love to see rare spells like "Stealth" or "Hellfire". Very rare spawn rate, very hard to learn even with 107 mental and 30 int... high level requirements to learn them like level 45 magic, giving high magic a reason. The fact that the highest needed magic level to complete leveling magic is 18 is pretty absurd. Overall I think shops could use some attention. |
Rare spells as event prizes = bad combo.
Maloria tried this and failed. |

Give them RoS style spawn-rates and put them in stores, even. |
I'm finding it hard to believe that adding another tedious step to shopping (which is already tedious) is going to improve the game.
|
mental exp, more rewards. get training from shopping.

Shopping still needs to be made far less tedious especially when it comes to ring shopping. A feature that allowed you to sell all the items in 1 sack would be greatly helpful in cutting down the time it takes to search for that specific ring (mainly RoW's). But for safety reasons, a prompt asking you whether you're sure you'd like to sell ALL the contents should appear, just in case people mistakenly drag their important sacks onto a vendor. |
actually took the idea for "Hellfire" off of the already created spell on debug.

Also a revamp of all the useless spells we currently have would be nice as well. |
I would like the spells such as Light, Daylight, Darkness and Dark Vision etc. to be useful. Aren't dungeons supposed to be dark, and require light or dark vision to properly navigate? Couldn't a disciple of Bile cast darkness on the gmap and envelop the surrounding area in a darkness similar to blinding to an extent?
We have the basis behind these spells already ingame, it's just fixing functionality. We should work on molding the game around fixing the spells we have at our disposal than trying to bring in more from debug :s There are tons more spells that don't work too and require fixing. A ton of Biles don't work such as hand of death and finger of death too? Vitroil/splash doesn't work nearly as intended in the descriptions lol... just saying. |
Having spell descriptions in game would be nice as well!
