If you take a ship, put it back where you left it. I store boards for repairs and cannonballs on mine and it's kind of annoying when it gets taken and I never see it again.

The general idea of this topic was to say "don't take them at all if they're not yours" but at least put them back if you HAVE to take one. Grow your own trees and make one.

I know Nuke is probably thinking the same, too. I'm not even sure why anyone would want his ship since it's pointed towards Forest. He has the only house on the entire island, so let him keep his ship.
I like the convenience of my house being on Ghost/Ghoul (I forget) Island because my docked ship on Hotaru is a straight shot to it. The ferry is always gone when I want to go to my house, and it takes a while.
It's really not that hard to make your own ships, it's ten trees.

I know very little about GK but wouldn't it be a simple process to just make ships movement by owner only?

This could be a good thing to add, if the person is in a kingdom and they make a ship on their homeland (so the sails have the kingdom color) the ship will belong to that particular account and nobody else can board unless the owner is aboard and tosses out the ladder for them.


While ships made on main island are free to claim by anyone.

Owned ships and even upgrading your own ships has been suggested before. But I would suggest upgraded ships don't die as fast as ships do now. Maybe the same speed as houses.

WHen i played GK i enjoyed taking over ships. It was fun following someone around who i disliked alot and when he jumped off his ship i would take his and my buddy would drive the other one. Don't MESS WITH ME!

Would be a cool idea, then you can store crap in your ship @ a closer osl location, and then go back to your house like once a week and unload it or whatever.

Could also add a piracy skill under agility or personality with chances to board ships (and actually steal stuff)
The ship upgrades could then include additional security measures.

It'd be sweet to ride around on a personal ship with two sails (faster), reinforced hulls (more hp), and double cannons (BROADSIDE) being a pirate.

Would need to add more docks, maybe even a port or public inside harbor for people to park their new boats.

I would never store anything but boards and cannonballs on it for that reason, that's why I have a house. :P
New ships/personalization/customization would be cool, though.
