Mainfile hats no longer exist?
 

Atleast on Classic it used to be possible to access "mainfiles/gifs/hats/" to download hats provided the line was included in folderconfig, but I've just noticed from doing "/find hat2.png" (which I tried having noticed a serverside fileexists(); of hats was returning false whereas normal mainfile images was still returning true) in RC that the directory no longer exists, or can no longer be found, I'm guessing this would have something to do with the servers being moved.

Normally the hats are not shared by servers.

They should be.

You say "normally" as if there's circumstances in which the hats would be shared.

So when are they shared? :D

Well originally "mainfiles" was linking to the classic levels folder, and if some file was added there then it was also visible for other servers.

Surely it makes alot more sense for something like this to continue being mainfiles, otherwise every single server would be requiring to upload the exact same hats manually and increasing the risk of somebody over-writing an existing hat.

I don't know what you mean by special shared folder exactly, but there certainly was "mainfiles/gifs/hats" containing the standard hats, and on Classic for example this was being used to allow clients to download them, as opposed to manually uploading them all.

Maybe in v6 you could make it so when you go to login it goes through these hats and downloads the images you are missing?

Same with basic images such as door.png and pics1.png (someone just HAD to overwrite it the other day)

All these overwritten images are getting annoying and I hope you find a way to fix it in v6 :)

yeah, someone have been door-overwriting lately, so i just went ahead and made it read-only >:0

With this probably not happening, could somebody upload the "default" hats? Like, most (or even all) of them?

Here's a zip of the exact former mainfile hats that I've uploaded to Classic, there are quite alot of hats with the same naming format that go into the 200s, 300s, 400s etc but those definitely were not mainfiles so I don't include them.
