And the citizens of Era all danced a dance of joy and gratitude... http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/unstick4.png |
What exactly is the update?

Those tables look horrible, they always have..
And Developers. They always will. |

What exactly was the problem with the quote and image you censored, TSA?

I don't know how but they've managed to make Era even uglier.
|
There is also a bunch of other broken crap on the overworld. Forgot to mention that stuff!

Make the area ten times smaller, and put a nice hedge around it.
It's more practical and it looks way better. |

Took like 2 minutes... yet they insist on keeping it as-is with the ugly tables, no detail, rushed grass, random sized sidewalk squares, and out-of-place parking spots. Step it up Nas! |

As hard as this may be for you to believe, you can actually critique other people's work. That is, work you did not do yourself. There's this really cancerous idea going around Era that work and change = good. Sorry, that's just not the case. Work doesn't inherently = good. Updates don't inherently = good. Unless they actually are good. Work can end up making Era uglier. Work can end up making Era more unbalanced. Work can create as well as it can destroy. The mere fact that work is a present element (as laughable as that is when referring to Era) does not mean it's a good thing for Era. Stagnance > Regression. |

These are a couple of the 'unstick me' ideas I made a while ago for Era Dev.
Random Beach. Basically I was going for an 'unstick me' that you could leave in any direction that you wanted to. unstick me (inside style). This version was made with the idea of being "noob" friendly. Tutorials, NPC shops, and other important stuff like that all in one building. unstick me (outside style). This was just to try something new. I wanted to re-organize 'unstick me' and make it more open. I didn't really try and finish this, as I couldn't find a good layout I actually liked. Take a look, and yes I am aware they all could use a little touch ups. |
Make the GMAP 1 level-
Guns----Hosp.-----GangBase. |-----All PK--------------| |------OUTSIDE----------| |------------------------| |Sand-----------Water---| |------------------------| GangBase--JobCent.--Event.H |

The inside is the best looking, I don't know why you didn't just go around and change like a level a day to look better while you were LAT, your inside levels are very nice, Era could use a few (every level...) redos. But I don't like the single exit aspect, and I don't know how a tutorial could effectively be added with a purpose... seeing how you can pretty much link to the wiki or support center with a single click. I like how the buildings are re-positioned in the last one (is that from dev? looks familiar), but it's a really small enclosed/sitting area. And sitting/chilling comprises at least 90% of current Era. |

The problem with your theory is that the OP didn't say "THIS SUCKS" nor was he attempting to provide a critical analysis of the unstick me area. The entire point of his thread was to point out a LACK of updates/work, as he stated earlier himself. Other people then began to critique, which is fine. Obviously there is a distinct difference between constructive criticism and useless complaining. Your response Quote:
You realized that he was complaining about a lack of work/updates, and insinuated that he's part of the problem.. If this is the case, your argument is completely illogical. Obviously he's not staff, so obviously even if he had work/updates in mind or prepared the chances of them being implemented are incredibly slim. OR You thought he was critiquing the "update" he was pointing out, thereby giving the impression that one needs to have work prepared in order to critique a work. You did not say "Where's the work OR well-constructed critique YOU'VE prepared?" You just asked for work. All that to say, it seems your first post must have been plagued by a lack of reading comprehension and good wording, because I agree with everything you said in your second post. |
