It may not sound exactly the same, ofcourse Midi playback varies highly depending on your synthesizer but some of the videos on this channel such as the featured one have music where to me the tune sounds eerily similar to stef29.mid, I was actually alerted to this by a returning old player of Classic who themself said they thought it was familiar.

For those that haven't heard it:

Can't be the case, according to Stefan the midis were composed by Unixmad, and this would have been more than 9 years ago.

Yeah we need someone who can speak Dutch so we can try to obtain an MP3 of it .

On a slightly related note there is a couple of different stef midis where several different people not knowing the history behind them have PMed me "omg u stole that music from <insert very well known MMORPG here>".

So you did >_<, I wonder where Kyle/Origital saw it.

oo_jazz_oo 11-15-2010 04:59 AM

I saw it on Gizmodo, which is where I assumed you saw it. :P
Since the video is almost a year old. XD

Unless multiple sites just decided to unearth a year old video at the same time. lol

ff7chocoboknight 11-15-2010 05:01 AM

Why would this be on Gizmodo?

I just noticed it there now yes, strange that I also became aware of it yesterday though so possibly.

Yes, I saw this the other day and thought the same thing...

... but I wouldn't be alarmed. It's obviously one of those little music/beat makers that come on music keyboards or some pieces of software. All you do is change the keys and it fills in the rest for you. I've done the whole music thing for a decade now and have heard hundreds of these. Most (if not all) of the "stef" midis seem to have been made this way. This also explains why other people would think they were stolen from other places although they're not completely identical. It's just canned music where you fill in a few blanks. Of course it's going to sound the same.

Dnegel 11-15-2010 05:31 PM

Christmas music lmao

I love "graal" styles music
