Getting back into it
 

Hey guys been sick the past couple of days so I decided to get back into some pixeling just for fun. Started out with this sword just to see how it came out.

Tell me what ya think. Any Comments and Criticism will be appreciated,

Just a quick few notes:

• Handle and the very end part are not finished/ horribly rushed.
• Not quite sure which outline to go with or which would look best.
• Not pillow shaded on the blade, its supposed to be a type of crystal.

For a crystal blade it seems very leaf like (cartoony leaf).

My first impression was a leaf blade as well.

Might wanna make it less leafy...

I think I will just leave it leafy and say that is what I had in mind all along :)

I thought it was a busted watermelon.

It is pillow shaded.

Try adding some "glow" on it.

No, Glow is what got it leafy in the first place. It looks like it should be basking in the sunlight waiting for an elf to pick it up (sound familar?)

What he needs is to give it a more metallic texture to the blade, I could make an outline of that and if given the right texture then the proper shine (glow would be a horrible move) then you'd have a more crystal looking blade, Look at graal's gralat's for example. Just throwing random thoughts, hope someone with actual experience can pick the nuggets of useful info out of this ball of ****.

I'd do it more like this.

Crystals have sharp, angular edges.

Also, I like your color choices.

The curvature of it is mostly the problem.

I mean't "shiny", like steel f.eks.

I'm having trouble nailing the texture I want so it might be a few days before I get some results.
