[Development] New Melee Weapons
 

I was bored, That pretty much sums it. lol
I decided to make some melee weapons. Some are sorta Era material and others well, more of a joke than anything (Humorous to some). :D
Ill be posting them in this thread as I make them, with the attached images and gani files so you can pop them in graalshop, along with a video to see it in action.
Era has my permission to use these as they see fit, if they want to use them that is.

Make a long wooden stick, nun-chucks and a broom stick.

they look too cartoon-ish :[, maybe the wrench if it was touched up more.
How about a nice walking cane melee ?
Or a different type of Baseball Bat.
Or even Wooden swords would be nice for nubs and other players who want / cant afford the only 2 Samurai Swords.

edit: by the way, Alt+6 is a better way to record graal stuff.

That wrench is pretty cool, but it would very cool if it were more "rusty" and old, and maybe some dark blood on it. :D

I've always wanted too have a huge variety of melee weapons (and more MODERN guns) on Era, they could have same stats yes, but look completly diffrent.

They look stupid in the video, DO VARIETY...I hate that stupid slash you do with a melee weapon on Era, it looks horrible :(

@KrimsonSky: The thing about them being cartoonish, Graal isnt that realistic, so the cartoonier the better? Plus, it adds my style to Graal. I tried using Alt+6, I messed with it so much that its not even working for me. The videos are all white when i use it. lol

@Catbert: If it was free I totally would. :(

@Dnegle: If you buy something from a shop it shouldnt be rusty, it would be sweet to have it after some time the weapon would rust and get bloody from using it.
Id make a bloody/rusted one it if Era wanted to do that, im sure they got better things to do though. (Hint Hint Era!)

@Scooter: I dont know how the melees are scripted. Do they have a different freeze for each melee, or are they the same? I just dont know...But With that slash, its fast and lets era work the melee weapons more easy (Other melees are using this same strike). I think there already is a stick or something but its kinda plain.
A broom stick? This isnt Zodiac lol (Isnt there a broom stick as a weapon on Zod?).

So far i plan on making:

Sludge Hammer - Will make a new animation for this one. With some neat pounding and or swinging effects perhaps.

EGuitar - Lol I liked that idea.

Long wooden Baseballbat - New Animation for this one, Swing batta batta.

Wooden sword - Would be cool. :p

They have about 25 RCed staff, Chris had about 10 (half being PRs).

And Chris pulled more updates weekly than these guys, they deleted some walls in gang bases and made it look like ****, good job! /praise

Video Should be slightly better quality, with less lag.
(I did a bunch of mumbo jumbo to vistas settings and got Alt+6 video to work for about 10 mins lol. Now my theme looks like windows 98.)

Good work so far.

On a side note: I hope the new staff team is still planning to designate a certain key specifically for melee weapons, so that melee weapons can be used in conjunction with guns, as apposed to having to equip one or the other.
Maybe the "F" key could be used for using either grenades, or melee weapons.

Yeah, they ruined the beach too.

The G key is already used for grenades.

The F key is used for a small bunch of guns and melee weapons for alternate attacks or to toggle on back ganis etc.

Melee is fine as is.

Well, What they could do is let you hotkey a melee weapon. Just like the guns, but instead it just lets you stab (or hit or whatever your melee weapon would do, leg eggs perhaps) without unequiping your current "item" set to D, like how pressing S does.
Maybe would let you stab then shoot a bit faster.
But i do like the current, I cant complain. <3

It's not the absolute WORST quality, but camtasia 7 ftw.

The guitar was the best one so far.

They could make it so you can hotkey swing melee weapons to a gun slot, and it would swing without unequipping/reequipping the gun, but would have to swing a bit slower to prevent some abuse as opposed to the traditional way. But it would take a hotkey spot so I'm sure noone would complain.

As of today I will be away for 3-4 weeks on "vacation". When I get back ill be making more for this thread. And then, I'll probably make another thread about something else (why not). Then i have to fix my Alt+6 video recorder (again), and then I...uh...nvm. Cant wait to see what new features Era has when I come back! Well, id hope they would have new stuff... Bye for now era! I will miss THEE my fwend. (I might even do some stuff while im gone)
