A weapon I call Ryusou

Well I wanted to go into depth in Dev within Graal. So I ventured into Graphics. I sooner found out I was decent since I can draw irl and having experience with graphics. Here is a Spear I wanted to make for Zodiac. The first image is the one I want to do my best on but I already know from already posting these on Zodiac forum. Not everyones great at giving tips nor great criticism. So id like you all to examine and do some tips or ideas so I can better improve the Spear and my GFX in the future. Also some heads up I already know the blade looks flat and poorly shaded. I am not the best at mashing different silvers and dark shades of silver.

Where's the shading?

Silver textures or anything that is supposed to be some sort of metal should never be gray only. Your shading lacks a lot of contrast too.

I'm not the best one at silver and metal stuff either, but I often use medium gray-blue and some very light gray-purple here and there.
Here's an example palette that you could use to improve your shading, and to show you what I mean:

I see what you mean within the palette not all of it has to be a shade of gray. Things can make it look like it has some depth or texture to make it real "sorta". I will use it for reference. Thank you.

While the general advice is valid, I think your suggested palette is very bad. You shouldn't be afraid of contrast or saturation. Let the metal pieces have some more color!

I don't know why but this weapon reminds me of a skin peeler for like apples and such.

Now I want an apple.

That was a quick example, and yours is better. But it also depends a lot on the rest of the graphic, and also the style applied to it. (but yeah overall, I didn't pay attention to the palette, it was a quick showoff)

I think putting something like that in the water is an accident waiting to happen
