papajchris 06-27-2010 11:53 PM

i thought something was missing just couldnt figure what it was

kia345 06-27-2010 11:59 PM

It was "too much work to moderate".

Loriel 06-28-2010 12:01 AM

Make me moderator, let me ban people who misbehave, it will turn out great I promise

xAndrewx 06-28-2010 12:48 AM

I vote Loriel for global supermod.

Darlene159 06-28-2010 02:34 AM

ngrt was not removed, it is in the lounge because the lounge was created for non graal related threads.

I thought the lounge was for more "mature" topics, while the ngrt was just for non-graal related things like video games or youtube videos or something.

I pictured the lounge as a sort of gentleman's club. And the ngrt was the filthy masses. We'd throw pennies at them sometimes.

DustyPorViva 06-28-2010 03:46 AM

They should at least move everything back to ngrt and carry over the permissions. It's annoying to navigate through ngrt just to get to the lounge(which is its replacement).

But I won't get into how retarded the whole thing is anyways

fowlplay4 06-28-2010 03:55 AM

Graal seems to have a terrible track record when it comes to anything involving the web.

It was easier for the members and moderators both to place it in the lounge so that links would not have to be approved in the ngrt. Videos are also considered links.

It would be even easier to make the rules more lax.

Only in the Lounge, everywhere else they do need to be approved.
You still need to use common sense when linking though.

It would be easier to make the rules strict as hell but have me enforce them

Elizabeth 06-28-2010 02:05 PM

didn't that already happen

Loriel 06-28-2010 03:06 PM

I do not know, I was moderating the scripting forum for a while but I did not think I would get away with banning anyone.

adam 06-28-2010 05:56 PM

I never went to the lounge before, then again I don't goto ngrt either, but now I couldn't if I wanted too right. And thier right, the lounge was created for mature topics, not interested in that. Never even got access.

Fulg0reSama 06-28-2010 06:20 PM

Que Darlene to tell the people to read her signature!

Loriel 06-28-2010 07:26 PM

if you have signatures enabled on this forum you must really hate yourself

Im just too lazy to turn it off.

Crono 06-28-2010 08:11 PM

basically the no link rule is completely retarded and useless and to "make up" for it they created a lounge within the NGRT to "allow links" and "more mature topics"

in the end they realized the NGRT became a pointless house for forum games so they got rid of it and kept the "lounge" which is now known as the "NGRT"

WhiteDragon 06-28-2010 09:11 PM

I think the core of the problem is that the forum rules can't be changed. Yes, unixmad can change them, but that basically means they cannot be changed unless you have a very persuasive argument.

I think The Lounge is a good solution to that problem taking into consideration the few available options.

nah, you just have to be someone that's listened to

it took like houdini + the supermods just to open the forum up to classic members (last good thing to ever happen on this forum, this place was almost a ghost town)
