MMT hacked?

Ok, I got on to my tag and when i got to the kitchen / storage room. Everything was gone. Expect the gold. Next day i put a trap there. I dropped 10 dias and count how long it disapeared. It took around 2 days until it to disappear.

...Perhaps we should get a new system?

MajinDragon 02-24-2010 03:17 PM

Basically, any system that gives complete access to all employees from day1 is failed. Furthermore, because there are no logs on who took what, it's even more failed.

Sam 02-24-2010 03:25 PM

To solve this problem you just need to script something that allows MMT staff to create the food for the plats it costs on the list.
It's not the best solution but since it isn't possible to run the MMT as it was planned when we released it, I don't know a better solution at the moment to prevent stealing.

Crow 02-24-2010 05:29 PM

Special cookers for MMT, maybe? And some storage NPCs, where you drop whatever you have gathered. Ingredients cannot be taken out, and with the special cookers, you can use the stuff from the storage(s) to cook..stuff.
Just need one more thing to deliver the food to the customers, so new employees can't just walk in and create food for themselves.

fowlplay4 02-24-2010 05:46 PM

Leaving things on the floor is just irresponsible.

The main idea of the MMT was to support RPing and new players to get experience.
So the best would be to make the whole thing dependent on the rank of employees: everyone gets a kind of chips.
To get food to serve, you have to pay the cookers with these chips. If you sell the cooker food or meat or vegetables from farming, you receive chips.

This gives them the chance to go farming (and get exp) and also to get a payment for selling the stuff to the cookers or serving it to customers for plats.

Craigus 02-24-2010 06:23 PM

Just put a damn NPC in there that sells food, you just type "buy 10 jerky" and the food is spawned, MMT has never worked right and is just a flawed idea on GK.

What are the workers supposed to do? Idle for payment?

Tigairius 02-24-2010 08:14 PM

Seems like MMT only experiences problems.

We could make a new system for it, but it's currently not even really used as-is.

Food isn't that important/hard to find on GK -- so there is no real need for MMT.

Is there any estimated time/date that the MMT lost all of its stuff? Will make it easier for me to find stuff through logs and ban the person.

As far as i know, its several noobs doing it. I had a fellow Crescent Pirate pm me "WE JUST PLUNDERED MMT, WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR SHARE?".

BigBear3 02-24-2010 10:09 PM

Only hire people you trust.

Craigus 02-25-2010 11:42 AM

Actually food is a major problem for battle mode players who are not bile, hence why there are very few..

I agree food isn't that problem. I use a ammy of sustenance and barely need any food.
I don't know if it is possible to make the MMT food another weight so that people do not have much interest in stealing it.
At last I have to admit that there is not really a reason to have the MMT to serve food, since the orginally reason (enforcing RP) is not given anymore.

StormYs 02-26-2010 12:59 AM

Best solution imo:

Burn the MMT down!! Then replace it with a armour/weapon shop.

Ravenblade1979 02-26-2010 04:18 AM

I'm honestly not shocked this is still going on. One of three things could be done as solutions.

1) Expand MMT to include another map where stuff could be stored (access limited to owner and one other person and only owner can give that person access....other person can't give others access).

2) Watch who you hire.

3) Turn MMT automatic so there is no real use for staff.

Seeya 02-26-2010 04:26 AM

Man Raven, when you used to play, we had a blood feud- but you were probably still one of the best managers MMT's had.

Ravenblade1979 02-26-2010 04:37 AM

i would have to say sam was better then me lol

Zeltino 02-26-2010 06:05 AM

When I actively played GK, I hung at the MMT quite a bit. I didn't need food because I was/am Bile, but it's always enjoyable to have a party. I remember the Crescent Pirates would almost always have our parties and celebrations there :). Also, when I was a GM, I used the MMT as a place to hold Birthday Parties. Would order a bunch of cake for everyone and it was quite fun! Don't get rid of the MMT.

Let's say place 10 Inferno swords and wait 10 minutes for someone to rob them.

Also why did Drakeroo become manager? He's rarely on. I think Kale should be one.

Did you just compare Inferno Swords to food? If i saw ten inferno's on the ground (except if it's for an event i.e in testbed.nw), yes, i'd rob them and have no remorse.

Agreed. I don't know about how it is these days, but I know the storage room was always misused to store private stuff.

cyan3 02-26-2010 01:03 PM

The Major problem with Misty Mug Tavern is trust, I know when John was Manager he only ever hired older players who were well respected and rich enough not to steal anything to begin with and I think he is one of the only Managers in the history of the Tavern not to have the store room robbed.

Yeah but I think it is not a good solution. Older players focuses on others things as serving or farming food.
The MMT should be a preparation for a kingdom membership, a place for new players to learn RPing, working in a team, learning skills etc.
It should be run by someone having a stake in training new players.

Gothika 02-26-2010 01:34 PM

The best solution is to have a room above the back room which is a store room that only managers/owner etc can enter. That room would store most of the food/materials with the back room just having enough food/materials. Every couple of days a manager can refil the back room with stock from the store room.

It won't stop stuff being stolen, but atleast it will stop masses ammount of stuff being stolen since they'll only be able to take the limited supplies that are within the back room.

What about a kind of cauldron for each staff, that cannot be taken away or opened by some else? If possible it could be made that in addition the manager can open it too.

Clockwork 02-26-2010 02:27 PM

Wouldn't a simpler solution be to simply make a script that puts a sign in the room showing something like;

*2/26/2010* 07:26
Account Clockwork left Pizza ( 10 ) in the storeroom.

*2/26/2010* 15:39
Account Stephen took Pizza ( 10 ) from the storeroom.

Stephen 02-26-2010 02:31 PM

Or just repair the spells intentionally broken so MMT would be more... "successful".

Can you be a little more specific what you mean by that?

Restoration. When it used to refill your food bar.

Ah okay. I have a sustenance ammy and don't need much food. But since there is still the misunderstanding I will say it again: the MMT was made first of all to improve RP and help new players to become familiar with kingdoms. To feed the people was never the main reason.

I'll let the community do the talking. I'm not the only one aware of these transgressions.
