GC Prizes?

Hey there folks.

The GC team is going to be revamped in the near future, along with the studios and everything associated with it. I'm going to make a few threads over the next few weeks to gather opinions on different subjects, and I guess I'll start off with prizes.

Basically, on 'old classic,' everyone was able to acquire enough tickets to purchase the majority of the prizes, but most of them were very pointless/just for show. Night loved ganis, and there was a rule about prizes not being able to do damage, so the result was a bunch of colorful npcs for prizes.

This time around, the prizes will be able to do some damage. Most likely they won't be permanent/infinite, nor will they give players such an ungodly advantage that they'll simply pwn all the LMS events. One idea was a super bomb or super bow with a limited # of uses, or perhaps a super bow that that you had to keep buying special ammo for (with tickets.)

Another thought I had was to perhaps make some crazy awesome/uberific NPCs, but only enable them in certain areas, and thus events/overworld PK wouldn't be overrun by nukeshots or deathlasers that DC used to wield.

Well those are some thoughts, but I'm open to any ideas right now for potential prizes, whether specific or general. Obviously thor + the dev team will have control over parts of this (setting certain rules, making the prizes, etc.,) but the more ideas, the better.

Super Bomb/Super Bow idea is ****ing dumb, I hate it when you guys release quest items as event/raffle prizes

I think keeping stuff purely cosmetic is the way to go, something that doesn't give a gameplay advantage unobtainable elsewhere. That said, skins for stuff like Rat Form, Bird Shot, Bow, Bombs, Horses, Fishing Rods, etc would be a neat thing to see added as GC prizes instead of just more animations.

There is almost a grave need for a limited use prize item that you had to refill for tickets that gave some sort of advantage, specifically in events. if you can't keep tickets created near the tickets being destroyed on a regular basis, the economy for tickets will once again go down the ****ter.

also, statue auction. Why does this get ignored every time it is brought up, it's not like nobody participated pre NPC Server. ****, I think I remember Dark Corrupt winning the auction with something like 1500 tickets from himself and donated out of my pocket.

I think that the items should be released in themed groups like you'll see on MMO cash shops. Holiday items are a common theme for example. When I say this though I don't mean releasing the same items every single year or expiring items, because limited edition items are much more valuable and fun to collect.

Hamburger: Costs 2 Tickets, one time use. Full heal. Just a thought.
That's all I can think of >_<

Superbomb, Nukeshot, Fireblast, etc, should be quest items only or if they're going to be GC items, they should be attainable through quests as well. The GC prizes themselves should never give players an advantage, they should be skins like Kevin suggested. Maybe give grelats a value (though a very inflated one), and offer grelats as prizes (the black grelat used to be a GC prize, though I think it was through a random drawing thing). Bring back old GC items like the suicide dagger (hell, make it cost grelats to use it).

I just remembered, I really liked Max's 'link cable' multiplayer expansion idea for the minigames you buy as a GC prize.
