Any chance of Voice Chat ?
 

I mean, having Ventrilo isn't bad, and fairly easy, but what if we could get a little *Decent Quality* voice chat going on in each server [or Global in that opinion].
All you have to do is have a mic and turn this selection on;

I do know Graal has an "enable microphone" option, but I also know a few of us have already seen [Heard] the outcome of that. :p lol

I support this, it can be fun.

I would like to see some scripting support for microphones, yes, it would be nice.

Yeah, this would be very useful for servers that want some control over it, like an RPG server where you can have party members and that kind of thing.

I've seen plenty of games with voice chat built-in that are seldom used except to shout obscenities, and there have been many attempts at Graal Ventrilo/TeamSpeak servers. Which makes me believe this will probably end up like that tbh.

On a side note, I believe there's a possibility to rig something together using flash, if Graal allows it to use Mic.

Party chat, and guild chat has been useful on the various games I've played. I fully support the idea of having the microphone's abilities expanded (with global chat, team chat, local chat, etc).

Thanks for supporting my idea guys, I hope to see this expand though out the Graal community.

*I do recommend though that if this idea does it placed into action that it should be a "Freedom of Speech" and a "at your own risk" Voice Chat.

Only problem with this being implemented is just finding a codec to get licensed, I'd imagine.

Err, aren't you just better off using a third-party program for this? I doubt we'll ever get anything that elaborate or well-off anyways.

Speex too is free.

Ventrilio works but you have the trouble with not enough people knowing about it..We use it but you have to give everyone the info, and probably half of graal doesn't know what it is

Players which have their sound so hard on a server that you can hear the sound effects, or people making those very annoying sounds

Well ofcorse there would be a mute option , and if it continues to happen,
ranks RPs/GPs up should be able to kick or mute till he/she sees improvements.

Hm, might be worth a shot, though I've personally had little luck with using flash in Graal beyond animations and the like.

I support this also, it'd be a quite useful feature.

Ventrillo is better than skype imo.

so this is just about adding scripting abilities to the current in-game mic support? i doubt this is what graal really needs to be focusing on right now

Personally, I can live with just using Skype, I love Skype. But it would be cool to see in Graal, however, I realize that Stefan probably wouldn't have time for it.
