Hiding the Cursor?

Is there ANY way to hide the cursor without OpenGL mode? If not, why is it disabled for DirectX?

Even if we can't change the cursor, it'd be cool to be able to hide it and show images in its place in certain circumstances :(

This would be perfect to create tutorials in-game, I support this.

Also, I think it was possible before?

It used to be, ya :(

I remember Maloria used to have custom cursors and such that I thought was nice, but I never could get that to work when I tried doing it :(

Custom cursors (images) would be annoying because it would be abused by servers. I can definitely see it being useful for crosshairs, though, and hiding the cursor would be great.

The script functions have been there, I just don't think they work anymore. At least, it was possible in GS1, it seems.

From what I understand in GS1 (or rather, with the old client) you could set it to some different things (normal, crosshairs, hourglass, etc) but not actually set it to an image. I'd be fine if this was restored.

You could set it to an image with setcursor2.

You could. As Vash said, Maloria used too, but it hasn't worked for a looong time.
