Ubuntu 9.10 rc solution

For those who have used Graal on Ubuntu 9.10 would notice that the graal remote control doesn't launch. I found out that the libgtksourceview1.0-0 package is missing in 9.10 and is causing the problem with the launch and simply installing the package will fix the problem. Either use the terminal command below or search for it in the package manager.

For some reason, after installed that library, RC still won't launch for me :( When I try to run it from the terminal, I get the message "Killed".

Very strange. Installing the package should fix the problem so I have no idea what the problem could be.

Aye, it's quite strange. I also get a seg. fault error in terminal when I try to run the compatible RC. Though, I had to manually configure the better part of my hardware so god only knows what else isn't properly configured.

I've had to resort to Scripted RC. It'd probably be a lot more tolerable if I got hold of the v6 Linux beta, though obviously I'd do more than just take advantage of the external windows and report any issues I find. Not sure if that's possible though.

Also, I've tried that version of RC to no avail.

Note that I've had little to no experience with Linux really, except for a few insignificant moments, so I do apologise for any newbie mistakes I've made or will make.

so i removed it from my HDD and kept using 9.04 :rolleyes:

Well, those commands ended up giving me practically no info besides the fact that the binary is getting SIGKILLed somehow. Probably would need to talk to Stefan.

The only thing that bothers me is that my internet speed appears to be extremely slow at times, like when loading web pages. That and not being able to get on RC.

Have you checked your computers hardware? When I first installed Linux my internet connection speeds were low and I kept losing connection until I later found out that my network adapter did not support Linux operating systems.

9.10 Isn't bad after you get it working properly.

I bought a cheap adapter that supports Windows, Mac and Linux Operating Systems plus it's internal and my older one was external using a USB connection. I could forum pm you the link to where I bought mine from. It only costs £15.82 right now and has loads of great reviews from Linux users.
