Magic Spar Tournament
 

The time has come to determine who reigns supreme in the magical arts, this can be no more clear than in the cauldron of battle where ones knowledge is not enough. Knowledge, Endurance, Cunning and Power. The victor will be he who is able to combine all these traits to the fullest.

At Sunday 24th January at 21:00 Server Time i will begin the tournament.
The prize for the victor shall be the legendary Ruby Wand.

There are only a few rules for this tournament:
Sanctuary is banned
Magic Bullet is banned
Fear is banned
Paralyze is banned
Rods are banned
The use of scrolls is prohibited
Healing is banned
And finally, consistent running (making no attempt to compete and simply wasting time to heal or do whatever)

I'd like to organize the match-ups before we start so if you'd like to participate please respond in this forum and note your account name.

And don't be confused, there will be a lot more rewards in the form of prizes handed out, not just to the winner, but to the runners up and those who i feel showed great skill (something alot of mages don't display) .

*shrimps will obviously be there, I can't let this wand I cherish so much become tarnished.
I will shed tears if I lose.

So there's no more confusion, grace based spells are ofcourse allowed, one should have concluded this from me banning only sanctuary and healing from all the possible grace based spells.

The use of grace is legal so long as you don't use sanctuary or any healing spells.

I can't attend i lag on gmaps :(

WIndows 7 vs graal = very lagy.
I'll have a problem also, but I can't lose=[

psht.. for me windows 7 is flawless with graal. Vista was terrible on the gmap, I had to disable lights most of the time because of vista. :(

Seems everyone else I talk to that has windows 7 lags very badly, including me, and I know it's not because of my computer, or my internet connection.

I'll come maybe, iduno... you'd have to remind me...

Although, still waiting on my second restoration which includes magic gear <.< (Graal is begnning to suck with bans/hacks/staff)

Update: The venue will be the castle ruins of Bognera.
If lag becomes too much of an issue i'll consider moving it underground if that will help.

The event went well, many entrants didn't show but there were enthusiastic players online willing to fill in. Some fights were eye raising, others that seemed to ramble on like an old age pensioner, but they all paved way for the cream of the crop to give us viewing of epic fights.

Our magic champion, recipent of Ruby Wand and most tenacious dueler was: Brandmaner, also known as Farmer Chilimby :p

Ah the infamous tear giver appears. It would have been wrong to ban magic bullets w/o banning all bullets, i understand the tactical nature bullets can play and so during the event i did state, a statement which all participants saw and understood, that bullets were allowed but only to be used tactically and not for spamming. You have only yourself to blame as you did not pay attention nor did you show a knowledge of magic. Slade faced Snoro's bullet and storm tactic and defeated it with cunning. If you'd simply used your shield and stood a distance you could have avoided the storms while also blocking the bullets.

^ Not easy to have focus on the keyboard and the screen at the same time.

I wasn't able to make it :( Other things came up, sad day4sean. Sry4inconvenience.

Shame of an event though, i won my first fight against shadow, then for some reason because shadow was using large bullet, we restarted, and i was hit three times by large bullet, then icestormed - one hit kill, and the spar moves on!

I don't recall anything you've described other than your fight restarting numerous times due to misunderstanding of the rules.

This thread should be closed now that the event is over.

Damn, I wanted to watch this event. I'm ignorant at what a vast majority of the spells on Kingdoms look like or what they do.
