Alpha Transparency Use
So what is y'all's opinion on using alpha transparency on the edges of graphics.
I mean, it is 2009 and everything. |

I find alpha-blending pretty hard to do with pixel-art because I have to do it with Photoshop and it's not what I pixel in. However I'm not against it if something really needs it.

Clearly what we need is an online png editor written in gs2

No, that would be horrible o_o
Cool for a graffitti system or something :D Speaking of, Graal needs functions to bind and render textures stored as RGBA values in arrays or something. |
Dunno if "need" is a word I'd use. A lot of work for something that would never really be used.

Man, I want nothing less than more tools only accessible via the slow, heating-up-my-laptop client with a gold+staff account or whatever. I did not think programs not supporting alpha channels would be a big deal among you professional pixelationers. What is everybody using anyway? I would probably use gimp for elaborate things as a novice, is there any reason that is not feasible or do you just do not like using non-proprietary software?

mspaint for pixel art
paint.NET for a lot of stuff (opacity, effects, resizing, rotating sometimes, and because of the tools I've been now using for years !) CS4 Extended, because it's cool, but I really really RARELY use it. But I like the quality work you can do with it. |
GIMP 2.6 for all Pixel related graphics.
I got Adobe Photoshop CS4 Professional, Adobe Fireworks CS4 and Paint.NET though. |
Photoshop cs4
