Update
As mentioned within another thread it is intended for Classic to have a System built to control (speed up the Development Time of and ease future improvements for) all team events.
Quite alot of progress has been made with this over the last week or 2, while there's some way to go yet CTF could just about be hosted in a basic working state without any extras or the hosting setup everyone is used to, which basically means while the game itself is working, such as base warps, death warps, flag carrying, scoring, game being won, teams and score being displayed etc, there isn't yet a class for entrances to set up teams and game mode etc, a system to actually be used for hosting the event, or GC controls (the scripts are prepared just this is intended to be more GUI based). Once this is all ready it should be pretty easy to remake each team event, for instance I had been using Sumo to test CTF, but when it got to the point of testing alternative modes it only took a couple minutes to get Future working, and the same concept should also apply for when trying to implement a totally different team event. The other highly significant area of progress is with finalisation of Movement, this doesn't directly affect gameplay to much extent, it's basically the difference between using onwall/2 checks and scripted wall checking (turned out to be a pretty big difference however) to ensure customisability in such things as whether certain tiles/npcs/players should be checked as blocking objects, or whether it should be all players/just your own player/every other player which is checked, so now there are small improvements to accompany custom systems such as Saints not blocking (outside of events and spars), dead players not blocking, no blocking of other players when you are obstructing a narrow path etc. In the long run however this is something that will be a useful resource for content creation, it can be used for any clientside baddies for instance (in the past using onwall/onwall2 would sometimes see other players as blocking objects, or yourself as one inconveniantly). |
Why the **** are you making events rather than content?

Also it's not as if Questing related content isn't being focussed on, resources are still being put together for their creation, just there is no specific Quest project at the time being, which without the resources for speedy and coherant Development would be pretty pointless to do. |

and it also means we'll be able to easily add improvements to the entire set of them, such as more in depth statistics, event-specific custom emoticons etc, it would probably be fairly simple to toggle a "public host" option for them too. |

You're not seeing the bigger picture here, rushing stuff merely for the sake of working is one of the main reasons the server ended up how it did. Our steps are intended to save a load of time in the long run aswell as be able to improve already existing content with ease which is exactly what the said system will bring, and the end result will include a CTF that has improvements over how it was in July. Despite that, when you consider how long everything took between 2005/2006 we've actually accomplished it much quicker. |

Rufus I guess you have 3 options:
1. Play Classic 2. Don't Play Classic 3. Join the staff team to implement your ideas |
can you please give a estimate on when CTF will be finished

G2k1 is not finished or released either, yet he can't shut his trap in these forums as if he is the master developer. Classic is showing a good amount of progress compared to overall graal, where nothing except of more iPhone games is really happening. Keep up the good work! |

My posts simply echo concerns that many people have had in the past. Y'know, people who actually played the server through thick and thin. Those people didn't believe that they were "master developer[s]" either, but had they been listened to, Classic might not be where it is now. We had all of this content prior to it going down, so just where is the progress here? I don't even know why I'm asking you though, because I don't really think you know what you're talking about at all. |
