I'd like to know the latest updates on Rebirth? ^^

Updates are posted on the N-Pulse website.

Recently, a concept art gallery was released.
A little more insight into the story revolving around rebirth, and a Q and A thread were posted.

To be honest, nothing much was going on in that movie. Would be better off just showing off screenshots.

We were focusing mostly on functionality of all systems before polishing off and making it eyecandy appealing. Development is at a stand still until we have the funds to pay for the debug server, and until some main server projects are finished.

It says "Sooner than you think..." was this done as an April fools joke?

That was my point.

Its been longer than April. If I remember right, it's been longer than 2 Aprils ago.

Let me guess, giant humanoids rule the land but one day a small and different offspring is born and thus begins the story of the first human? :3

where the gameplay?

I have heard this question too many times, and I've answered it a thousand more. But the blame is also partially mine. Project Rebirth has grown from just being a simple cleanup to an entire expansion and revival of N-Pulse lore.
What it aims to do is enrich the loose N-Pulse atmosphere by introducing a more organized plot, setting, and theme. Yes, it'll feel different than what you're use to right now, but it'll be a "good" different.

Any oldbie to N-Pulse will recognize the setting to a degree. I didn't go off on a tangent and make everything from scratch.
My intention was to take several plots and themes from past management and tie them together. For example, our new storyline will actually make our completely random server description accurate and not random! *gasp*



I intend for it to be neither, but it may end up feeling like a little bit of both.
I want to go for the "Adventure" feeling. I want it to feel like a world with consequences, something you can immerse yourself in. No, I don't want you to roleplay. I want you to be yourself. I want to challenge your moral character, I want you to believe and feel for the characters around you.
Basically, I want to make something rarely seen on Graal. However, I want to preserve the fundamentals of old N-Pulse. So Events, Spar Zones, and even classic PK will remain perfectly preserved in their classical nature. Think of them as "minigames" used to take the stress of new atmosphere off the player. So basically, when you're tired of questing and killing ****, go play some events old school style. We'll even have an option for classical styled guild wars :3


I'll have to explain this in another thread. The story and theme is much too large to try to explain it here.




Sorry I can't give you one. I and the people under me are entirely made up of volunteers. Progress rates are unstable at best, but it WILL be released.




There will be a reset of all player accounts. You will lose all NPCs and gralat. I hopefully intend to preserve EC, but I cannot make promises. Most classic NPCs will still be around, some might be turned into spells and will no longer be classic npcs. But Pokey Stick will definitely be around! (Some annoying NPCS like spirit bomb will be completely removed.)

So you see this real badass evil player character that you don't like in a nonpkzone, what do you do? Poke him with the Pokey Stick of course! :-p

In fact, we've set it up where you can select classic NPCs for either D or F key, and it shows up on the new HUD.




The exact details have yet to be worked out. But the majority of it has been planned.

It is unlikely that PKing a player will affect your alignment. It'd be too easy to max out that way.

All towns will be nopkzones. That means you can go about your business in an orderly fashion while in town.
However, outside of towns - in the wilderness... all is fair game.





Don't look at Project Rebirth and think, "oh cool a new server!"

Because it's not a new server. It's simply an expansion that revamps the server into a more professionally organized theme.

Once Rebirth is released, you will still be able to do anything you can do now (except classic pk outside of the classic areas)

In fact, you can ignore the whole damn thing and idle for old times sake. Although you'd be missing out


Project Rebirth is not a new server, but a server expansion of content where normally you'd just idle for hours.

Question about rebirth. Are all accounts going to be reset?

Yes.

I just think You guys can hire more staff to get things moving faster. I know some people are willing to help but due to management with trust issues he pulls them away.

Hiring staff is not as easy as it was years ago, we'll be lucky to find a mediocre and active developer. I'm aware what your talking about with Management and trust and such, i plan to bring this up soon to see what can be done for those few individuals who want to contribute but have no trust from Management due to their past, or whatever it may be. Also, can't neglect the main server and it's development or we put our Classic tab status on the line, which is what we are preventing.

ya i know. i cant help right now due to the economy and not able to afford internet no more my family comes first but ill be back in a few months and ill be willing to help if u need a ganier/lat

Since a few people are still curious about Rebirth development, it has been put on hold until we can get funds to retrieve our Debug server back. All development is currently concentrated on the current state of N-Pulse, and more information can be found on the site.

As expected, school has caused a great deal of staff inactivity, which nothing can be done about, but Kay and myself are currently working on giving more direction, and leadership to our development departments., which will most likely include a few staff promotions/demotions.
