idle = high CPU usage
I notice when I idle, sometimes for even as little as 5 minutes, I get insanely high CPU usage from Graal. Nothing has changed, I can get it when there are no players on the screen, no light effects, no scripts. Even showscriptstats shows nothing extraordinary. Leaving the level fixes it, however. This happens constantly.

Does it happen on other servers?

Dunno, I don't log on other servers :P

And if it was a script or something, why would leaving and reentering the level resolve such a thing? |
I recall that projectiles being fired in a gmap don't get deleted clientside, so they can collect up. However, all projectiles automatically get destroyed when you leave a level, which could be resulting in your CPU going down.
I'm not sure this is your problem, but it could be. |

This sound plausible. |
I actually have this problem constantly to the point where I've had to reset my Graal client. My CPU get's as high as 220,000K memory usage where it actually has to shut down graal without my consent to do so. :noob:

My CPU is a neural-net processor... a learning computer.

Sometimes i'm lagging like that when i'm moving o.o
with 4Go RAM |
***** I hate when ppl say CPU and think it means computer, its just one part just like your drivers, motherboard, and other peripherals make up the "standard computer"

Same goes for my granddad, but that's more obvious. Another thing is when people say "Why do you have two computers?" and point at my two screens. Facepalm irl. Pisses me off. :P |
What the **** does CPU have to do with my drivers?

So when can graal stop being so unoptimized and having memory leaks?
|
I never have a problem with Graal and my memory. Like my picture shows, it's only taking 67k for me on a gmap on UN. I've seen background processes that take more than 67k.

Regardless, Firefox itself is taking 80k right now with only two tabs open, and that can climb up pretty fast. So if a game is taking less memory than a web browser, I'd say it's handling things pretty well. |
I don't know if this is connected or not but while I was idle on Graal Ghetto for around 5 - 10 minutes my processor was running really high with 80% of my processor working on the graal client so much so that a failsafe on my operating system logged me out and when I restarted my computer it wouldn't let me boot into Linux from my bootloader. I don't think my operating system breakig is a direct cause of the graal client so it shuts down but i was installing a critical update at the time of the shutdown.
