Graal on Vista x64

I'm trying to run Graal to assist a mate on his server, and I am simply unable to communicate to him in-game due to Graal incessantly lagging. It renders a few frames at a time, then simply freezes.

Note: Skills server is the only observable server so far with these issues. It also has had a lot of complaints recently by a great many of people... coincidence?

Any assistance?

PS: Also, I noticed that, apparently, you're using Direct3D 7. Perhaps it's time to update to Direct3D 9 or 10?

Only thing that worked for me (other then changing to Windows 7 <3) was to disabled some settings for Graal.exe in nVidia's control panel (can't remember which) as well as running in OpenGL mode.

Thanks Ziro, I plan to update to Windows 7 soon. I have also fiddled with the application settings in nVidia CP as you have suggested, and it runs smoothly. Except for Skills. Oh well.

Thanks again.

As I said, I don't know which specific option it was, I sort of disabled all of them for Graal.exe. I'd go back and experiment until I found out, but like I said, I'm on 7 and not Vista now.

Hold your windows key and press R. Type the path to graal, for example, "C:\Program Files\Graal\Graal.exe" then append "-opengl" onto the end, so you'd essentially be running:

"C:\Program Files\Graal\Graal.exe -opengl"

You can also create a shortcut to the exe file, then go to its properties, and it'll show "Target:" and you can just append "-opengl" inside of the quotes there.
