Midi rule?

What is the current rule on PW midi files? I've heard about 10 different things about them.

So i'm just wondering what the rule on PW midis are.

I heard somewhere PWs have to use the stef midi's and can't have their own midis.

Well I suggest everyone makes their own midis....just go to download.com and search for a midi sequencer, some of you may be able to make some good stuff with it...

well, i agree with Soul Blade, you should just make your own but what you do is:

1.Open them in windows media player
2.Look at the properties
3.If it says copywrighted u cant use it, else you can

the midis that are based on game music should be considered remixes because they are not the OSV from the developer of the specific game.

Midi's aren't illegal unless the actual game media is midi or has a copyright on it. If the game's music is midi but someone remixed it or created their own version then that's okay.

Say ripping the music from Doom or Doom 2 and using it is illegal, but if you go on vgmusic.com and download chrono trigger music then I think that's alright because the actual game music is imbeded in the cartridge with little music samples. (Various beeps and instruments mixed together to create the music, neat!) The midi's are more of a remix that isn't copyrighted and can be used freely unless stated other wise or you have to give credit to the author.

Stefan doesn't realize this and thinks that any midi assosiated with a game is automatically illegal. That's not true, only in some cases. ;\

no but i though stefan made it so you couldnt put music on graal. welll new music. Because who would know if it has a copyright. and why dosent someone try real music made with atleast a real instrument. And copyright your songs so then it might be aloud that they can see its yours and that they wont get in trouble .

Play it safe, have the player download a midi pack.
